Children will have a special morning with an owl and eco-art at Mangal das Garças this Sunday (27)
Momento Ecozoo and Ecoarte projects promise to combine fun and environmental awareness

This Sunday, April 27, the Mangal das Garças Zoobotanical Park will offer an educational and enchanting program aimed at children. Starting at 9 am, the space will host two initiatives that promise to combine fun and environmental awareness: Momento Ecozoo and the Ecoarte Project. Admission is free, and the activities will take place in the Park's amphitheater.
The morning begins with the participation of the friendly owl Olivia, the star of the Momento Ecozoo project, at 9 am. The morucututu owl will be celebrating its 10th birthday and will be presented by the Park's technical team, who will highlight its characteristics, lifestyle, and the importance of owls in environmental balance. It is also a moment for everyone to ask questions, learn curiosities, and take a photo of the animal.
“This is an opportunity to bring children closer to nature in a playful way. By getting to know a wild animal like Olivia, they develop empathy and learn about conservation in an affectionate manner,” explains Basílio Guerreiro, a biologist at Mangal.
Right after, at 10 am, the ecological mobile workshop begins, as part of the Ecoarte project. The proposal is to stimulate the creativity of the little ones using natural elements found in the Park itself, such as dry leaves, branches, and seeds, transforming them into artistic toys.

The program integrates the efforts of the State Government, through the State Secretariat of Tourism (Setur) and the Social Organization Pará 2000, which manages the space, to promote environmental education from childhood.
“Projects like Ecozoo and Ecoarte are essential to awaken a sense of environmental responsibility in new generations. At Mangal, kids learn while playing,” emphasizes Fernanda Scaramuzzini, Marketing, Communication, and Culture coordinator of OS Pará 2000.
