XVIII Festival de Ópera do Theatro da Paz encerra com o concerto 'O Messias' de Handel

Neste domingo (22), a Orquestra Sinfônica do Theatro da Paz (OSTP) e um coro com 40 vozes encerram o XVIII Festival de Ópera do Theatro da Paz com um concerto especial de Natal, executando em três partes o Oratório, do compositor alemão naturalizado britânico Georg Friedrich Handel (1685 - 1759). "O Messias" é, possivelmente, a obra sacra mais conhecida e executada em todo o mundo e contempla desde a Anunciação até a Ascensão de Jesus Cristo aos céus. A apresentação, que integra a temporada de concertos do Festival, acontecerá às 20h, no Theatro da Paz, com entrada franca.

“O Messias” é um oratório - algo que fica entre a música sacra e a secular - e embora seja uma obra religiosa, não é sacra, isto é, não deve ser executada no contexto litúrgico. Com 51 movimentos divididos em 3 partes, apresenta relatos sobre Jesus Cristo, que vai desde a anunciação profética, nascimento, vida, morte até a ascensão aos céus, quando há a culminância do Coral entoando Aleluia, demonstrando a alegria pela vitória do Filho de Deus sobre a morte. A versão paraense terá apenas 29 partes e a participação de importantes solistas, como o cantor lírico Homero Velho (baixo/barítono), Mário Ícaro Ferreira (tenor), Liliana Virgínia (mezzo-soprano) e Hosana Souza (soprano).
