The State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) has initiated another stage of the training pathway in the Sewing and Fashion axis, aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship, creativity, and financial autonomy for women from the Usinas da Paz in Guamá, Bengui, and Cabanagem, in Belém. This action is part of the "ModaLab: Create, Innovate and Transform" Program, with activities scheduled throughout this week.

In this phase, the Entrepreneurship Wheel opened the action that brought together students interested in deepening their knowledge about sustainable fashion, management, and innovation. According to Jully de Lima, coordinator of the Sewing and Fashion axis at Sectet, the project has consolidated itself as a tool for social transformation. "The pathway is designed to strengthen skills, broaden horizons, and show that fashion can be a real path for income generation and productive inclusion. Each meeting brings these women closer to new opportunities and a more entrepreneurial approach," she informed.

Among the participants is Ruth Costa, 67 years old, who was part of the first meeting of the pathway alongside 20 other women. Excited, she shares how the learning has impacted her routine and expanded income-generating possibilities. "What brought me here was a friend who invited me. I have taken several courses, I really enjoy it, and now I am doing the pathway. It has been wonderful. I learned things I didn't know, especially about sewing. I didn't know how to make ecobags, and I learned. I am even selling them now. For me, that is already a big deal," she reported.

The relevance of this training was also emphasized by Ângela Santos, a student of the pathway, who highlighted the impact of knowledge on strengthening new businesses. "Having this space for learning and exchange is essential for us, women entrepreneurs. The fostering of knowledge strengthens our businesses and gives us more confidence to grow," she assured.

Circular economy - Today, the pathway featured a special lecture by Ana Gibson, CEO of the platform "Bora Garimpar Belém", who was at the Usina da Paz in Guamá to share her experience with the students. Having worked for 10 years with circular and sustainable fashion, Ana presented the story of her company and reported how the circular economy has generated significant changes in the lives of many entrepreneurs who started, like her, with a thrift store.

"I believe that this joint work with society has an invaluable value. Circularity and sustainability need this link with the community to make sense. When we establish these ties, we strengthen the appreciation of sustainable fashion and show how much it can contribute to the entrepreneurship and income of these women," emphasized Ana Gibson.

Throughout the week, the students will continue to deepen their knowledge with practical activities and creative challenges. Next Friday (5), the ModaLab Tournament will bring together teams from the Usinas da Paz of Cabanagem, Bengui, and Guamá at the Innovation Space of the Guamá Science and Technology Park (PCT). The winning group will be awarded an exclusive mentorship from the Startup Pará Program.

The program also includes the Sectet Initiative Circle, held in partnership with the company Combinô. In this stage, participants will have the opportunity to experience the routine in a real and free thrift store, learning about curation, management, customer service, product display, and circular fashion strategies.

The pathway continues until Friday (5), with a technical visit on Tuesday (2) and strategic planning activities on Wednesday and Thursday (3 and 4), when each group will develop the plan for their fictitious company. The closing will occur with the presentation of the pitches constructed throughout the training, in a tournament among the entrepreneurs.
