Uepa holds online meeting on teacher training in Chemistry on December 2 and 4
Free registrations are open for students and teachers in the field
Experience and research exchanges mark the V Supervised Internship Meeting of the Chemistry Teaching Degree Course at the Center for Social Sciences and Education (CCSE) of the State University of Pará (Uepa). From December 2 to 4, the program will be held entirely online. The event represents another chapter in the integration journey between the university and basic education schools, consolidating itself as a space for reflection, socialization of practice and research, in addition to contributing to the strengthening of teacher training, especially for Chemistry teaching. To register and participate, interested individuals should access the event website, where the registration and broadcast links for the programs are also available.
According to the organizing team, the Meeting was designed to go beyond the formalization of an academic routine, as it “will be a discussion space that allows initial and continuing teacher trainees the opportunity to socialize and disseminate research and reflections on their own practice.”
During the three days, works resulting from the Supervised Internship I, II, III, and IV courses will be presented — in addition to reports of experiences developed within programs such as Pibid, Pedagogical Residency, non-formal teaching spaces, and graduate research linked to teacher training. The meeting also aims to foster reflections on the theoretical and methodological aspects that guide Chemistry teaching — emphasizing the challenges, potentialities, and social relevance of supervised internships in the context of basic education.
Participants can include undergraduate students, graduate students, basic education teachers, higher education trainers, and other interested parties in related fields. The online format aims to ensure broad and diverse participation, expanding the reach of the debate to different campuses and municipalities where Uepa operates. For those following the event's history, the V Meeting of 2025 continues a tradition started a few years ago — with previous editions promoting reflections on teacher training in Chemistry in the Amazon, the challenges of teaching practice, and the university-school integration.
Internship and training
The importance of a well-thought-out and socialized supervised internship goes beyond individual academic training. As shown by a study conducted with Uepa undergraduate students in Salvaterra-PA, the supervised curricular internship directly contributes to consolidating didactic competencies and critical understanding of Chemistry teaching in the public network.
Moreover — especially in the Amazon context — the meeting represents an opportunity to articulate pedagogical practices, reflect on local reality, and collectively build teaching methods that engage with regional specificities.
