Union of evangelical churches marks anticipation for 'Vem Louvar Pará'
Different denominations celebrate the free festival as a historic milestone of integration and strengthening of the Christian community in Pará
With free admission and two days of programming focused on Christian music, the “Vem Louvar Pará” event mobilizes leaders and evangelical denominations from Belém and the countryside, who are organizing to participate in the event at the parking lot of the Mangueirão Stadium. The gospel festival organized by the Government of Pará will take place on December 4 and 5, featuring major names in Brazilian Christian music.
Responsible for organizing the event, Pastor Lourival Pereira from the Quadrangular Gospel Church highlights that the initiative rekindles the sense of belonging within the evangelical community.
According to Lourival, the impact goes far beyond music. Christian leadership sees the festival as a reflection of mature dialogue. “There’s a collective feeling of gratitude. The churches have been partners in many social actions, opening their doors to serve the community, and now they see the government valuing these people.”
“This has a huge effect on the youth, who find in gospel music a healthy path, away from violence and choices that harm life. The expectation is one of joy and massive participation,” emphasizes Lourival.
Diversity of denominations
The gathering emerges as a symbol of unity and celebration, bringing together members of churches from various denominations for two days of praise, worship, and appreciation of Christian culture.
The idea of unity is also reinforced by Pastor, psychologist, and neuropsychologist Ivaldo Costa from the Altar Community. He explains that the festival represents a spiritual and sociological milestone for the Church in Pará. For Ivaldo, the gathering highlights that the center of faith remains the same, regardless of traditions.
“When we transcend denominational boundaries around worship, we affirm that Christ is the main focus. This movement shows spiritual maturity and commitment to the Kingdom. In the spiritual realm, collective worship transforms the city’s environment. Sociologically, it strengthens the presence of the Church in the public sphere, opens doors, and expands social actions. The city is touched; the Church is strengthened,” reinforces the pastor.
Mobilization
Pastor and singer Carol Porto sees the “Vem Louvar Pará” as a unique experience for many communities. In her church, all ministries are mobilizing to participate, reinforcing the joy generated by the meeting between distinct denominations that share the same purpose. According to her, the union has a direct impact on people's lives.
“When we see leaders and members walking together, we understand that the gospel has no labels. We believe that through praise, lives are healed, freed, and transformed. This inspires us. The union of churches needs to be a constant reality, and events like this show how loving and committed God's people are,” emphasizes the singer.
Different gifts and expressions of faith
For Pastor Márcio Souza, founder of the Church of the Way, diversity within the Christian church has never been a problem — on the contrary, it is an expression of divine wisdom. For him, the strength of the evangelical people manifests precisely when different gifts and expressions of faith unite for a common purpose.
“God has always valued gatherings. We are different like the members of our body, but when we look to God as the center, these differences diminish. The evangelical people are strong and engaged. Worshiping God is our foundation — whether in music, dance, or the arts. Seeing all this movement happening is something that deeply delights us.”
