The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP), through the Curro Velho Workshop Nucleus (NOCV), is holding a celebration agenda in December marking the anniversary of two of its most important and transformative projects: the 35 years of Artistic Initiation and the 10-year legacy of the Inclusive Dance project.

The first event of the program is the show "Crias do Curro Velho: 35 years of PIAr (Artistic Initiation Project)", which will take place at the Waldemar Henrique Experimental Theater next Tuesday, December 2, starting at 7:30 PM. With about 50 participants, the presentation brings together songs created for the performances of the Autos das Crias over three and a half decades. It is a manifesto of citizenship and belonging, celebrating the trajectory of Artistic Initiation, which since 1990 has democratized access to art for children, youth, and adults in the metropolitan area. The project is recognized for using art as a tool for social transformation, revealing talents and strengthening Amazonian culture.

The celebration continues the next day with the performance "Life is a Show", marking the 10 years of the Curro Velho Inclusive Dance Project. The presentation will be at the Margarida Schivasappa Theater on December 3, also starting at 7:30 PM. Launched in 2015 in compliance with the Brazilian Inclusion Law, the project breaks barriers and combats ableism, integrating people with and without disabilities through art. Dance, in this context, acts as a powerful integrative language, promoting psychomotor development, self-esteem, and autonomy.

One of the fruits of this work is the Cia. do Nosso Jeito, a sports dance company in wheelchairs that is now independent and has accumulated national and international titles. The methodology of Inclusive Dance, based on Dance-Education, demonstrates that art and culture are universal rights, capable of forming conscious and autonomous citizens, in line with State Law No. 10.972/2025, which establishes the State Policy to Combat Ableism.

The two public presentations synthesize the mission of the FCP. The Show of Crias is the testimony of a 35-year legacy that has transformed thousands of lives, while the Inclusive Dance performance reaffirms that inclusion is not a favor, but a right, where dance continues and all bodies fit in it.

The Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP) reaffirms its role as the main state body responsible for executing public cultural policies in the State of Pará, using long-term projects, such as Artistic Initiation and Inclusive Dance, to promote artistic training, free access, and social transformation, ensuring that art is a collective right and an agent of resistance.
