Codec celebrates agreement for the implementation of the Industrial District of Marituba
The formalization of the partnership, this Thursday (27), officially establishes Codec's technical support for the implementation of the Municipal Industrial District in Greater Belém
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) and the Marituba Industrial Development Company (Codim) signed, this Thursday (27), the Technical Cooperation Agreement that formalizes the partnership for the implementation of the Municipal Industrial District. With the agreement, Codec officially acts as technical support for the municipal company, providing strategic guidance in planning, environmental studies, legal guidelines, and project modeling.
The work plan includes structuring actions, such as mapping socioeconomic data, formulating municipal public policies aimed at the business environment, training local management to attract investments, and evaluating the area designated for the future Industrial District. The partnership also includes the development of support instruments, such as socioeconomic diagnosis, investor guide, development seminar, and proposals for municipal legislation.
The president of Codim, Luiz Augusto Pimentel Mello, highlighted that the signing consolidates a decisive advance for the industrial development of Marituba. He explained that the district will be implemented in the Alça Viária region, in an initial area between 250 and 280 hectares, distributed in phases with the possibility of expansion and urbanization of the surroundings. According to him, the municipality already records interest from local companies, as well as from the Metropolitan Region of Belém and other states, driven by the strategic location and logistical capacity of the territory.
“The partnership with Codec gives us the necessary technical security to structure a modern, competitive industrial district aligned with the economic future of the municipality. There is already significant interest from the productive sector, and this agreement allows us to advance with planning, clarity, and a long-term vision,” he stated.
The area designated for the first phase remains in a preserved forest condition, the initial phase for the environmental and urban studies that will guide the definitive design of the Industrial District. The project will have municipal management, while Codec will support all structuring stages, ensuring technical efficiency, institutional security, and quality standards.
The director of Strategy and Institutional Relations at Codec, Pádua Rodrigues, emphasized that the formalization of the agreement represents a significant advance for Marituba.
“The signing of the agreement allows the Company to provide specialized technical advice to the municipality, not only for the implementation of the Industrial District but also for other public policy actions aimed at improving the business environment in Marituba. Codec will guide each phase of the implementation and contribute to the municipality consolidating a planned, organized, and attractive industrial district for new enterprises,” he stated.
The technical director of Codec, Ruy Klautau, reinforced that the partnership ensures technical rigor in conducting the next stages.
“With the agreement signed, we officially begin the joint work. Our role is to provide methods, technical criteria, and support to Codim alongside the various State agencies, primarily aiming for environmental regularity, so that the district is implemented responsibly, efficiently, and with solid expansion prospects,” he highlighted.
The president of Codec, Lutfala Bitar, stated that the initiative reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to regional development and the economic modernization of municipalities.
“The Government of Pará has been acting in an integrated manner to strengthen the municipal economy and expand investment opportunities in all regions. Codec is a partner of managers, offering knowledge, planning, and institutional security so that each city advances responsibly. The cooperation with Marituba symbolizes this commitment: to support initiatives that generate jobs, income, and enhance the competitiveness of the State,” he declared.
Participating in the meeting from Codim were the president, Luiz Mello; the technical-administrative director, Marcus Vinícius de Castro Nascimento; and the director of Industry and Commerce, Bruno Santos Bordallo. From Codec, the manager of New Business, Sabrina Sena; the director of Strategy and Institutional Relations, Pádua Rodrigues; and the technical director, Ruy Klautau, were present.
The signing of the Technical Cooperation Agreement is part of the actions of the Government of Pará to strengthen economic development in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, enhance the competitiveness of municipalities, and stimulate the creation of new productive hubs. Codec also provides technical support to other cities that are structuring industrial districts, contributing to the expansion of the business environment and attracting investments to the State.
