In yet another investment in Marajó, the Government of Pará delivers the Breves Waterfront
Public equipment is the new postcard of the Marajoara municipality with bike paths and paved areas for circulation, such as the central median
The Government of Pará delivered, on the night of this Tuesday (25), the second stage of the Breves Waterfront. In yet another investment in the Marajó Integration Region, the public equipment is the new postcard of the municipality, with a space that ensures more infrastructure, leisure, and quality of life not only for the local population but also for tourists and residents of neighboring cities.
"This is an incredible waterfront that makes the city of Breves more beautiful. We are delivering a project that enhances tourism and local and informal commerce. Those who want will be able to practice sports and enjoy the sunset in the municipality of Breves," highlighted the Governor of Pará, Helder Barbalho.
The project, executed by the State Department of Public Works (Seop), in partnership with the Breves city hall, included the construction of kiosks, a sports court, a playground, and pergolas.
"This is a leisure space, a place for families to gather, a project that values the city, enhances the waterfront of this beautiful municipality, and increasingly promotes tourism and community life. So we are very happy to make another delivery," emphasized the State's Lieutenant Governor, Hana Ghassan.
Valdirene is 56 years old and works as a self-employed individual. She was one of the beneficiaries of a kiosk at the Breves Waterfront and is already planning the growth of her small business with the improvement of infrastructure and the arrival of new tourists to the city.
"I thank God for this opportunity. I had a small cart, my husband made a bigger one, but now this space on the waterfront is going to change my life. I won't have to stay in the rain anymore; sometimes we didn't even have time to gather our things, we faced many difficulties. Now everything has changed for the better, the kiosks will attract more customers. Our family is united in this new work opportunity."
The waterfront also features bike paths and paved areas for circulation, such as the central median. The public equipment generated about 50 direct jobs and had an investment of R$ 3,083,511.37.
Construction worker Zé Maria Farias emphasized that the Breves Waterfront is the new postcard of the municipality. "The waterfront attracts attention; people will now recognize our city. The more people from outside, the better; it favors tourism. Those arriving by boat will already see Breves with a different face. Now at Christmas and New Year, we will be able to come together in a place that is ours."
“The cities in Pará continue to grow through sustainable urban development. In Breves, the waterfront further enhances the scenic and tourist potential of the municipality, encouraging local commerce, social interaction, and the well-being of the population,” said the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.
