Civil Police seizes 40kg of drugs in Parauapebas and arrests man in the act
The suspect was carrying part of the drugs in bags. The rest was in an uninhabited property, used as a storage point for narcotics
The Civil Police of the State of Pará, through the Regional Superintendence of Carajás, arrested a man in the act of committing a crime of interstate drug trafficking in the early afternoon of this Monday (24). During the police operation, which took place in conjunction with the Urban Section and the Homicide Police Station (DH) of Parauapebas, approximately 40 kilograms of narcotics were seized inside the suspect's property.
“We received information indicating a possible location used for the storage of narcotics. Based on this tip, we began surveillance at the reported address and, at the location, we spotted a man carrying two bags. We approached him, conducted a personal search, and found narcotic substances inside the bags. He was immediately arrested in the act and, when questioned, admitted that there were more drugs inside the house,” detailed delegate João Abel Mattos, head of the Regional Superintendence of Carajás.
Subsequently, the police proceeded to search the property, where they found about 40 kilograms of drugs, including 28 kg of marijuana, 8 kg of crack, and 3 kg of cocaine, as well as precision scales and materials used to package the narcotics. “The house was uninhabited, functioning exclusively as a storage point for drugs. Investigations also indicated that the narcotics originated from the State of Maranhão, which characterizes interstate drug trafficking. The amount of substance seized represents a significant blow against drug trafficking in the Carajás region,” continued the delegate.
The arrested individual and all seized materials were presented at the Urban Section of Parauapebas for the preparation of the necessary legal procedures.
The operation demonstrates the effectiveness of the integrated work of the Civil Police units, reaffirming the institutional commitment to combating interstate drug trafficking, weakening the financial power of criminal organizations operating in the region, and fighting organized crime.
“This action is the result of the joint work of our units and the use of police intelligence aimed at dismantling the financial structures of the factions. The seizure of 40 kilograms of drugs and the arrest of the responsible individual demonstrate that the Civil Police of Pará is acting with firmness, planning, and concrete results. We will remain committed to protecting society and strengthening public safety throughout the Carajás region,” concluded the police authority.
