Sefa seizes more than 2,3 thousand tons of corn in operation on the Tapajós river
State inspection also detains cattle, scrap iron, and pipes in actions carried out on November 21
The State Department of Finance of Pará (Sefa) seized, on November 21, 2,343.08 tons of corn that were being transported without tax documentation on the Tapajós river, in the Santarém region, in Lower Amazon. The cargo, valued at R$ 909,946.30, was intercepted by the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Tapajós, with the support of the Military Police.
The inspection team approached a tugboat that was transporting the cargo. According to coordinator Roberto Mota, the vessel had a CNPJ registered in Manaus (AM) and presented, after the start of the inspection action, several Electronic Transport Knowledge (CT-e) issued in Santarém, but only referring to the road transport of the trucks that made up the barge's cargo.
"There was no invoice for sale or shipment regarding the transported grains. In addition, the taxpayer presented batch formation invoices for export, which refer only to the consolidation of the cargo on land. These documents do not cover the river exit, nor the circulation of the intercepted barge," he explained.
Mota emphasized that, even within the same municipality, the transit of goods without proper tax documentation is not allowed. For the irregular transport, a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 311,201.64.
Seizure of cattle in Cachoeira do Piriá
On the same day, the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Gurupi, in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, seized 14 cows, four male calves, four female calves, one donkey, and two goats. The animals left Tacaimbó (PE) heading to Santa Izabel do Pará.
Coordinator Gustavo Bozola reported that the inspection identified discrepancies between the invoice and the Animal Transport Guides (GTAs). "The invoice was issued before the GTAs, when the correct procedure is for the GTA to be issued first. Furthermore, the recipient had their state registration canceled since 2021, which prevents the acquisition of goods," he explained.
With the irregularity confirmed, the invoice was disregarded and the value of the cattle was assessed based on the Minimum Price Bulletin of Sefa, totaling R$ 64,353.01. The TAD applied was R$ 22,008.73.
Scrap iron without regularization in Marabá
Also on November 21, the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás seized 92 tons of scrap iron valued at R$ 93,416.00. The action took place at the tax post of the Carajás Railway, in Marabá.
According to coordinator Cicinato Oliveira, the invoices presented were issued by individuals who are partners of the company that actually supplied the goods, characterizing an attempt to conceal the commercial nature of the operation. The invoices were disregarded, and two TADs were issued, totaling R$ 23,495.26.
Pipes and connections with uncollected Difal
Also in Marabá, at the tax post at km 9 of the Transamazon highway, 2,036 units of pipes and connections from Sumaré (SP) were seized. The cargo was valued at R$ 52,192.70.
The fiscal analysis revealed that the taxpayer failed to collect the differential of rates (Difal) related to the interstate operation destined for a final consumer who is not a taxpayer. The TAD issued was R$ 8,768.37.
