The Civil Police of Pará, through the Division of Repression to Thefts and Robberies (DRFR), executed, on Tuesday (18), a preventive arrest warrant against another suspect of the robbery that victimized businessman Antônio Eugênio Pacelli Martin de Mello, vice-president of Fiepa, which occurred on October 3 of this year, inside his candle factory in Ananindeua.

The investigations allowed for the identification of the dynamics of the crime and the perpetrators of the action, as explained by delegate Arthur Braga, head of the DRFR. “Among them is the suspect who, in the analyzed images, appears wearing a white shirt during the crime, later recognized as the one responsible for firing a firearm at the victim, who did not survive the injuries,” he stated.

Given the seriousness of the facts and the representation of the Police Authority, the Judiciary decreed the preventive arrest of the investigated. During investigative diligences, DRFR teams traveled to the municipality of Guaraí, in the State of Tocantins, where, with the support of the local Civil Police, the arrest warrant was executed.

Still on Tuesday, the team carried out the transfer of the detainee to Pará, strictly following security protocols. The suspect was presented at the DRFR headquarters on Wednesday (19), when he provided testimony about his participation in the crime.

After the judicial police procedures, the investigated was sent to the Secretary of Penitentiary Administration (Seap), where he remains at the disposal of the Judiciary.
