Estação das Docas is a leisure option for those in Belém during the last days of COP30 and the extended holiday. The programming of the project Carimbó do Meu Pará, which started this Wednesday (19), continues until Sunday (23), offering culture, dance, and music for free at the Anfiteatro São Pedro Nolasco, always from 5 PM to 10 PM.

The audience can enjoy Amazonian and Pará rhythms in a series of unmissable performances. People of different ages have been enjoying it, such as the Pará teacher Wanessa Paiva, who currently lives in Rio de Janeiro and works as a museum educator at the Itaipu Archaeology Museum. Alongside her partner, the Carioca teacher Taiguara Moraes, she highlighted the special atmosphere the city is experiencing during this period.

Taiguara, who is visiting Belém for the sixth time, noted clear changes in urban organization and cultural offerings. “The city is more structured, the roads and bike paths are better, and there is much more programming. I have always danced carimbó when I come, but now I am even evolving,” he commented, laughing.

The couple passed through the Estação das Docas Complex after visiting Porto Futuro II. Invited to go on stage, Wanessa and Taiguara danced carimbó and ended up winning the contest prize.

For Wanessa, the atmosphere of the programming well summarizes the moment Belém is experiencing. “The city is showing everything it has of the most beautiful: its culture, the joy of the people, the warmth of human interaction. You can't find this anywhere else. Belém is vibrating, pulsating, and it is very good to be able to experience this,” she emphasized.

Also stealing the scene was Liz, 3 years old. Dressed in a carimbó skirt made by her grandmother, she didn't think twice before starting to twirl to the sound of the drums.

According to her mother, Liz has been dancing since she was very small and had a great desire in her heart: to go on stage, and she succeeded. With a smile that lit up her entire face, she fulfilled her wish to dance carimbó in front of everyone.

CARIMBÓ DO MEU PARÁ

Held with sponsorship from Equatorial Pará and institutional support from the Social Organization Pará 2000, the Cultural Foundation of the State of Pará (via the Semear Law), and the State Government, the Carimbó do Meu Pará project continues throughout the weekend, always in the late afternoon and evening, with traditional groups, singers from the Pará scene, and lots of dance open to the public.

On Friday (20), Os Curupiras, Som de Pau Oco, and singer May Ávila will take the stage.
On Saturday (21), there will be performances by the Grupo Regional Mapinguari, the Folkloric Ballet of the Amazon, and the group Carimbolando.

The Banda Açaí Pimenta closed the first night of programming with an animated and danceable show

On Sunday (23), the closing will be by the Groups Frutos do Pará, Ayrakyrã, and the band Fruta Quente.

JAGUAR PARADE BELÉM 2025

In addition to the musical performances, those visiting Estação das Docas can also check out the sculptures from the Jaguar Parade Belém 2025, installed along the waterfront. There are several life-sized jaguars, each painted by a different artist, transforming the space into an open-air exhibition that has been enchanting families and tourists.

With carimbó, art, gastronomy, and the view of the bay at sunset, Estação remains one of the liveliest points of cultural programming during COP30 and an excellent leisure option for families during the extended holiday.
