The 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), taking place in Belém until November 21, continues to boost the business environment in Pará and strengthen the visibility of the State to national and international investors. On this Friday (14), the Economic Development Company of Pará (Codec) fulfilled an intense agenda with companies from different segments, strengthening ongoing negotiations and opening new possibilities for future ventures.

The first meeting of the day took place at AgriZone, a space of Embrapa Amazônia Oriental dedicated to tropical agriculture and integrated into the COP30 program. At the site, Codec continued the dialogue with the OCP Group, the world's largest producer of phosphate fertilizers and a global leader in plant nutrition. The negotiations began in 2022 when the company acquired 50 hectares in the Barcarena Industrial District. Currently, the project is in the environmental licensing phase, and OCP has expressed interest in expanding the acquired area, requesting an additional 50 contiguous hectares to advance the planning of its industrial plant installation in Pará.

Also at AgriZone, Codec approached Amabee, a Pará-based company founded in the municipality of Breu Branco and recognized for producing açaí honey and derivatives. The local origin of the brand piqued the interest of the technical team, which identified alignment with the bioeconomy chains and the productive potential of the State. During the visit, the Director of Investment Attraction, Manoel Ibiapina, spoke with the representatives about expansion possibilities, support instruments, and available areas. The company's receptiveness opens new opportunities to strengthen initiatives originating from Pará itself and increase the added value of regional production.

The actions on this Friday (14) also included Codec's presence at Casa C.A.S.E., the House of Climate Solutions, which serves as a meeting point for initiatives in innovation and sustainability during COP30. It was in this environment that Codec established communication with Box Print Embalagens e Displays, a company from Rio Grande do Sul that operates nationally in the packaging and graphic solutions segments. The meeting allowed for the presentation of the competitive environment that Pará offers to groups from other regions of the country, including industrial infrastructure, tax advantages, and market prospects. The company expressed interest in analyzing the State as a possible destination for future operations, expanding the reach of the prospecting stimulated by COP30.

For the Director of Investment Attraction at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, COP30 has enabled various prospecting opportunities. "Codec is taking advantage of every space at COP30 to expand connections, talk to investors, and showcase the strength of Pará's industrial districts. The progress of negotiations with OCP and the interest of companies like Amabee and Box Print reinforce confidence in the State and broaden possibilities for new structuring ventures," he highlighted.

Codec will continue to provide technical and institutional support to companies and integrate these agendas with the opportunities expanded by COP30, focusing on the sustainable economic development of Pará.
