The State Traffic Department (Detran) continues to advance in the modernization and restructuring of road signage in Belém and in various municipalities in Pará. The initiatives are part of a set of works and investments aimed at improving urban mobility and preparing the capital of Pará to host the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30).

In Belém, Detran teams have executed horizontal and vertical signage services on roads that are part of the COP30 polygon, ensuring more safety and organization in traffic. Among the roads included are Avenida João Paulo II, Avenida 16 de Novembro, Avenida Marechal Hermes/Boulevard Castilho França, Avenida Governador José Malcher, Avenida Brigadeiro Protásio, Avenida Padre Eutíquio, Avenida Nazaré, and Avenida Portugal.

The streets Osvaldo Cruz, Padre Champagnat, 2 de Dezembro, Arsenal, Dr. Assis, and 15 de Novembro, located in neighborhoods such as Cidade Velha, Nazaré, and Umarizal, also received signage improvements.

According to the general director of Detran, Renata Coelho, the works reinforce the agency's commitment to safety and urban mobility. “Improving signage is a fundamental measure to ensure traffic organization and the protection of drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians, especially in areas that will receive a large flow of visitors during COP30,” she emphasized.

The services include the renewal of pedestrian crossings, dividing lines, directional arrows, and regulatory and warning signs, ensuring better visibility and traffic flow.
