In order to further strengthen education in Pará, the management of the State Department of Education (Seduc) visited, this Thursday (6), the Regional Education Directorate (DRE) of Benevides, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, as part of the cycle of strategic visits conducted throughout the State. The goal is to deepen the dialogue with regional teams, listen to local demands, and strengthen educational management.

The DRE Benevides serves 21 schools in the municipality. During the program, the secretary spoke with staff and school managers, reinforcing the State government's commitment to an increasingly strong and inclusive public education.

“My priority in management is the student, it is the public education of Pará. The great star of the Secretary is the student. We will do our best for education. We know that infrastructure and equipment are important, but people are essential for learning to happen,” highlighted Ricardo Sefer.

The mayor of Benevides, Luziane Solon, accompanied the Seduc delegation on the visit to the state schools Cenecista François Paul Begot, Deusarina Nascimento de Souza, and João Batista de Moura Carvalho, where the team got to know closely the realities and needs of the educational units.

“It is an honor to receive the secretary and his team in Benevides. We have been working in partnership with the State government and the results have been significant. This presence of Seduc further strengthens our commitment to quality public education,” said the mayor.

Benevides has established itself as a reference in education in the Northern Region. Among the highlighted actions is the Alfabetizando Benevides Criança (ABC) Program, developed in partnership with the State government's “Bora Alfabetizar”.

The city hall also implemented the Partiu IDEB Program, which offers school reinforcement, mock exams, and extra classes to prepare students for the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), achieving significant results, such as 1st place in the Basic Education Development Index (IDEB) among all municipalities in Pará and the Northern Region in 2022, and maintained the leadership in 2024.

“Benevides is an example that planning, efficient management, and valuing people transform education. This is the model of work we want to strengthen in all regions of Pará,” emphasized the secretary.

This is the 22nd Regional Education Directorate visited by Seduc management, out of a total of 40 DREs that will be visited by December. An initiative that reinforces the State government's commitment to a close, participatory management focused on results in public education in Pará.
