Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan signed, this Wednesday (5), the Service Order for the start of the first phase of the expansion and modernization works of the Public Regional Hospital of Transamazon (HRPT), in the municipality of Altamira (Xingu Integration Region), which has about 137,000 inhabitants. The state's investment will allow for the improvement of hospital infrastructure, increasing and enhancing the capacity to serve the population.

Vice Governor Hana Ghassan also signed the Service Order

"Today is a very important day. The state government signs the start of the expansion works of the Transamazon Regional Hospital. We will have the capacity to expand to 35 ICU beds, including Adult, Neonatal, and Pediatric. This means that people will not have to travel to Itaituba, Santarém, or Belém, advancing the strategy to strengthen the region. We will also complete the Regional Hospital of Uruará (in the Xingu RI), which will also serve the entire region, decentralizing care from Rurópolis to Brasil Novo, and increasingly strengthening the expansion of high and medium complexity bed availability," highlighted the governor.

The head of the state executive also emphasized the importance of constructing the Hospital Hemodynamics Sector, another advancement provided by the works. "A hemodynamics equipment will come to ensure catheterization, cardiac treatment, and stent placement (which unclogs arteries), without needing to send patients to other municipalities, so they can be treated here," announced Helder Barbalho.

With the first phase of the work, the Public Regional Hospital of Transamazon will increase from the current 9,792.67 square meters (m²) to 11,694.11 m², with the construction of the Hemodynamics Sector, and 35 beds for the Intensive Care units, being 16 in the Adult ICU, four in the Pediatric, and 15 in the Neonatal.

HRPT structure will be expanded and modernized, gaining a Hemodynamics Sector

The services, executed through the State Secretariat of Public Works (Seop), will result from investments of R$ 39,751,285.22. The work is expected to generate about 120 direct jobs.

Health is a priority - While also participating in the 42nd Agricultural Exhibition Fair of Altamira (ExpoAlta), which is part of the commemorative program for the 114 years of political emancipation of Altamira, celebrated on November 6, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the importance of the works delivered and authorized by the state for the population.

"Today, the eve of the municipality's anniversary, we are here to celebrate. We have just inaugurated a daycare from the 'Daycare for All Pará' Program, and we are starting the expansion of the Regional Hospital, which will serve the population. We know how much you longed for this expansion, so that each family can sleep safely, because health is a priority in our lives. Today I am here to start this very important work, which will have resources from the state government, so that we can advance even more," emphasized Hana Ghassan.

"The signing of the Service Order today is yet another demonstration of the effort of Governor Helder Barbalho's administration and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan to continue improving the quality of life for the people of Pará. The expansion of the Transamazon Regional Hospital in Altamira increases the number of beds, providing more dignity to those who need public services," emphasized the State Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.
