The State Traffic Department (Detran) continues with the Traffic Education Project Across Pará, which travels through the regions of the State bringing educational and awareness actions about safe behavior in traffic to the municipalities of Pará. Launched in 2020, the project aims to reduce accidents by bringing Detran closer to the local population, offering guidance tailored to the traffic profile of each city.

In this phase, activities are concentrated in the Marajó and Carajás regions and will continue until November 8, with actions aimed at car and motorcycle drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, students, and professionals from local companies. Detran teams conduct educational approaches, lectures, courses, dynamics, and practical guidance, always focusing on safety and respect for traffic rules.

The general director of Detran, Renata Coelho, emphasizes that the project reinforces the agency's commitment to bringing educational actions to the interior and valuing life. "The 'Traffic Education Across Pará' is a continuous effort that brings Detran closer to the communities. We believe that awareness is the most effective way to save lives, which is why we are present in all regions, providing information and promoting behavioral change in traffic," said Renata.

The coordinator of Traffic Education at Detran, Celina Koury, explains that the activities are planned based on the specific needs of each region. "In Marajó, for example, the focus is on motorcyclists and pedestrians, who are more vulnerable. In the Carajás region, the actions emphasize the safe sharing of roads due to the intense traffic of heavy vehicles and passenger transport. Our work is to adapt the content to the reality of each location," pointed out Celina.

In addition to the current activities, the project will continue to reach new municipalities between November 22 and December 15, expanding the reach of educational actions throughout the State.

The next locations to receive the Traffic Education Across Pará include:

• Araguaia Region – with the mototaxi course in the municipalities of Xinguara, Redenção, São Félix do Xingu, Ourilândia, Tucumã, and Água Azul do Norte;

• Tucuruí Lake Region – in Jacundá, Goianésia, Breu Branco, and Tucuruí (one team), and in Novo Repartimento and Itupiranga (second team);

• Tapajós Region – in Itaituba;

• Xingu Region – in Pacajá.

“Each lecture, each conversation, and each approach are opportunities to transform behaviors and prevent accidents. When citizens understand their role in traffic, everyone benefits in safety,” reinforced Celina Koury.

Since 2020, the Traffic Education Across Pará project has been consolidating itself as one of Detran's main initiatives in promoting education, prevention, and valuing life in traffic, reaching thousands of people in all regions of the State.
