Sefa inspectors retained the cargo of 4.5 tons of frozen shrimp, with irregularities in the invoices

The Secretary of Finance of Pará (Sefa) seized, on Thursday (30), 4.5 tons of frozen shrimp, valued at R$ 345 thousand, during an inspection carried out at the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, located in the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, in northeastern Pará.

“The driver of the vehicle presented invoices for industrialized shrimp originating from Jaguariúna (SP) and destined for Manaus (AM), which raised suspicion from the inspection team due to the chosen route. The driver presented other invoices originating from Itarema (CE) and destined for Manaus (AM), consistent with the expected route for transporting the goods,” explained coordinator Gustavo Bozola.

During the physical verification of the cargo, 532 boxes of shrimp weighing 4,500 kg were found. “It was identified that the recipient company had been recently established, which prompted contact with the Secretary of Finance of the State of Amazonas (Sefaz-AM). Sefaz-AM conducted an inspection at the indicated address and found that there was no company at the location,” said the state revenue inspector.

The cargo was retained and a Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 117,993.51, referring to ICMS and fines.

Itinga- At the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of the Secretary of State of Finance (Sefa) of Itinga, in Dom Eliseu, northeastern Pará, 400 chairs, 80 tables, and eight stages valued at R$ 247,043.00 were also seized on Thursday (30), with goods originating from Nova Iguaçu-RJ and destined for Belém.

“The goods are intended for a legal entity, a non-ICMS taxpayer. The payment regarding the Differential of Rates for non-taxpayers (Difal), which should have been collected in favor of the State of Pará, was not found,” explained coordinator Rafael Brasil.

The goods were retained and a Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 51,238.56 corresponding to the tax and fines, which was paid and the goods released.
