The company conducted technical visits, engaged in dialogue with institutions, and is now advancing measures to attract new investments to the region
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) concluded a three-day strategic agenda in Marabá, in the southeastern state, aimed at strengthening the industrial environment and building conditions to attract new investments to the municipality. The mission, led by the company's president, Lutfala Bitar, reinforces the presence of the State Government in the territories and the integration with public institutions and the productive sector.
The Codec delegation, composed of Technical Director Ruy Klautau; the Director's advisor, Evandro Diniz; and the regional manager in Marabá, Mirla Dourado, included technical visits to the Industrial District, meetings with representatives of the public power, and listening to the demands of entrepreneurs, focusing on territorial organization and strengthening the economic infrastructure of the municipality.
Industrial District: diagnosis and perspectives
The agenda began with an inspection of the Industrial District of Marabá to update the diagnosis of the areas and structural conditions of the industrial hub. In Phase 1, the 55 lots designated for the productive sector were sold, and Codec is working to restore the dynamism of the area by reactivating currently idle spaces and enhancing job and income generation.
Phase 2 is in the planning and organization stage, conducted in alignment with the State Government's guidelines and observing responsible measures to ensure future occupancy, with institutional security, respect for social issues, and attention to territorial planning.
The program also included meetings with the Municipal Secretariat of Industry, Commerce, Science and Technology and with representatives of the City Council, strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the State and Municipality to promote a more competitive and attractive business environment for new enterprises.
Integration with the State Government
The visit concluded with a meeting with the regional government secretary, João Chamon Neto, consolidating the strategic alignments between Codec and the State and reinforcing the importance of Marabá as a logistical and productive hub of Pará.
The meeting was attended by the chief prosecutor of the Regional Prosecutor's Office of the PGE, in Marabá, Erotides Martins Reis Neto. He presented the current status of the proceedings regarding Phase 2 of the installation of the Industrial District. The participation of the PGE reinforced the responsible and integrated conduct of the process, aligned with the institutional vision of the State Government to ensure legal security, planning, and continuity of actions.
“Marabá has unique conditions to continue expanding its strong position in the economy of Pará. The State Government has acted in an integrated manner to strengthen this environment, closely monitoring demands and preparing the municipality for new investments. The work of organizing Phase 2 is being conducted with responsibility and planning, ensuring institutional security and respect for the community. Marabá is ready for a new cycle of growth, and the State will continue to act to ensure that this development generates more opportunities for the population,” said João Chamon.
The Technical Director of Codec, Ruy Klautau, highlighted the importance of close action in the territory. “The agenda in Marabá deepens our diagnosis and strengthens the relationship with entrepreneurs and institutions. We are structuring actions to reactivate industrial areas, attract new enterprises, and expand our local action, including the installation of a permanent service point, preferably within the Industrial District. The guidance from President Lutfala Bitar is clear: to be present, plan based on technical grounds, and act in an integrated manner to boost regional development,” he stated.
Next steps
With the conclusion of the agenda, Codec will continue to consolidate the technical diagnosis of the Industrial District, including sending an engineer from the Company to measure the roads, update the internal circulation map, and identify priority structural improvements to strengthen the infrastructure of the hub.
At the same time, Codec will continue to engage with local entrepreneurs and potential investors to stimulate the reactivation of idle areas in Phase 1 and create conditions to expand the municipality's productive capacity. The planning and structuring work for Phase 2 will also continue, in alignment with state and municipal agencies, to ensure organized, responsible expansion aligned with social priorities and regional development strategies.
The Company is also working to consolidate a permanent and strategic presence in Marabá, ensuring direct service to the productive sector and active presence in the territory, reinforcing the proximity policy adopted by the state management and driving new cycles of growth for the municipality and the entire region.
