After 120 days of hospitalization at the Santa Rosa Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins, in Abaetetuba, patient Maria Cristina, 50 years old, originally from Tomé-Açu, was discharged this Thursday (30) and was honored with an emotional farewell through the "Tô de Alta!" project, coordinated by the Humanization sector of the unit.

The initiative aims to value the moment of medical discharge as a symbol of overcoming, promoting welcome and reinforcing the bond between patient, family, and healthcare team. Upon leaving the hospital, Maria Cristina was received by a human corridor formed by collaborators and nursing professionals, celebrating her recovery with applause, handmade flowers, and words of affection.

As part of the tribute, the patient received a handmade bouquet of sunflowers, representing hope, light, and the beginning of a new phase. The celebration began in the ward, where she was hospitalized, and was marked by the gratitude of the entire team for the journey of overcoming experienced over the four months of treatment.

Emotion and gratitude

Emotional, Maria Cristina thanked for the welcome she received and emphasized the importance of the hospital for the population of the region. "These 120 days of treatment were essential for me to get to know each of these competent professionals, who are always ready to help and guide, always with a smile on their faces and a warm hug. Today I will be discharged and go home, which will leave an immense void in my heart, because here I learned to love and care for them as if they were my family. I thank everyone and the Government of Pará, because if this hospital did not exist, what would become of our population?" she declared.

Project "Tô de Alta!"

The action is part of the humanization policy of the State Department of Public Health of Pará (Sespa), and aims to recognize the journey of patients who have faced long periods of hospitalization, celebrating not only the medical discharge but also the comprehensive care provided by multiprofessional teams.

The delivery of the Santa Rosa Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins by the State Government expanded specialized assistance in the region, focusing on providing humanized and quality care to the population of the surrounding municipalities.
