Pará launches eCult+ platform to modernize management and access to cultural spaces
Trilingual digital tool brings together more than 70 cultural facilities and facilitates scheduling, program consultation, and registration of cultural professionals
The Government of Pará launched, last Wednesday (29), the digital platform eCult+, which promises to transform access and management of the State's cultural spaces. The tool, which already brings together more than 70 registered public facilities, allows for consultation, reservation, and viewing of cultural programs in a digital, secure, and transparent manner. The launch event was held at the Teatro Margarida Schivasappa in Belém, with the presence of public managers, artists, and cultural producers.
Developed by the Foundation for Support and Development of Research (Fadesp), in collaboration with the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult) and support from the Cultural Foundation of Pará (FCP), the City Hall of Belém (through Semcult), Open Society, and the Institute of Culture, Communication, and Incidence (ICCI), the platform has a trilingual interface (Portuguese, English, and Spanish) and is available to the public at https://www.ecultespacos.com.br/
Centralization and efficiency in cultural management
The main innovation of eCult+ lies in the centralization of information about cultural spaces, allowing for consultation by filters such as location, capacity, and infrastructure. This way, producers and artists can quickly and safely identify the most suitable venue for their events.
In addition to consultation, the system allows for online scheduling with real-time verification of space availability. Another differentiator is the integrated cultural agenda, which organizes the programming of the main cultural facilities, with searches by date, type of event, or location.
"It responds to a demand from this large creative economy sector that is strongly linked to tourism," highlighted Secult head, Úrsula Vidal. "The platform is very easy to navigate and allows searches by date, type of facility, or capacity. It is an essential tool to inform both residents and visitors."
Integration with the creative sector and professionalization
The eCult+ will also serve as a database of professionals and services in the creative economy, including technicians, scenographers, lighting designers, catering companies, transportation, and translation, expanding access to job opportunities and strengthening the cultural sector.
"Tonight, Pará's culture is finally entering the 21st century," celebrated Claudinha Pinheiro, director of Cultural Interaction at FCP. "Now everyone will be able to connect in one place. It is a step forward to overcome communication and scheduling difficulties."
Singer and producer Joelma Kláudia also highlighted the impact of the initiative. "This platform is very useful. Although it may seem obvious, technology has always been a tool that transcends horizons. We will have a connected Pará, with less bureaucracy and more art reaching all regions."
Partnerships strengthen cultural governance
The launch of the platform is the result of collaboration between state and municipal agencies, as well as partner institutions from civil society.
"It was an incredible experience. It's great that the State and the City Hall came together to think of a solution like this," said Claudinha Pinheiro, highlighting FADESP's role in developing the tool.
"Behind this partnership, there are several people involved, from the political decision of the secretariat to the technical team that made all this possible," reinforced Roberto Ferraz, director of FADESP. He emphasized that the tool opens new possibilities for the cultural production chain.
"We are bringing the population closer to cultural producers. It is a benefit for everyone," added Nadilson Neves, director of Culture at Semcult, referring to the integration between the City Hall of Belém, FADESP, Secult, and FCP.
Towards COP 30 with strengthened digital infrastructure
With the approach of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), which will be held in Belém in November 2025, the eCult+ platform will also serve as a reference for disseminating cultural programs aimed at the international audience.
"The expectation is that the resource will qualify the creative economy sector, providing easier access to crucial information about the city's cultural life," highlighted Úrsula Vidal.
