As a reference in medium and high complexity in northeastern Pará, the Hospital Regional Público dos Caetés (HRPC), in Capanema, northeastern Pará, started a preventive program on the last day 24, in honor of Pink October, a month dedicated to the prevention and early diagnosis of breast and cervical cancer. The program, which involved female employees, users, and their companions, concluded this Monday (27), with a total of 100 services, including exams, lectures, and beauty services.

The initiative, promoted by the Humanization Working Group (GTH), offered a series of services to participants, including PCCU (Pap smear) exams; the “Prevention Coffee,” led by nurse Renata Cipriano, which provided a moment of conversation and awareness about women's health care, in addition to a beauty action for users, with eyebrow design services.

During the period, the hospital management promoted moments of welcome, awareness, and self-care, signaling the importance of information as a main ally in the fight against cancer. The program included a meeting of employees from different sectors, wearing a piece of clothing in pink to support the cause.

According to the coordinator of the GTH, Vanessa Blante, the goal of the actions was to unite prevention with the humanization of care. “Pink October is a moment to awaken women's attention to self-care and the performance of preventive exams. In these two days, we ensured a light program, with spaces for conversation and moments of self-esteem enhancement, because we believe that caring is also about welcoming,” she emphasized.

For Maria Nilza de Sousa, 61 years old, a resident of the municipality of Salinópolis, about 75km from Capanema, the program was a balm. “It is very important to participate in a movement like this, which exalts our female audience, with the opportunity for us to take care of ourselves here at the hospital, which gives us extra motivation. The hospital is wonderful, with excellent treatment. I can only thank all the professionals,” she said, who is dealing with a wrist sprain.

In total, about 100 services were provided to users during this week of programming.
