The State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Higher, Professional and Technological Education (Sectet) held, this Saturday (25), the certification ceremony for over 200 students who completed the Basic English for Tourism, Digital Marketing, and Public Speaking courses offered by the Capacita COP30 Program, in Santarém, in western Pará. The event, held at the Sebastião Tapajós Convention Center, brought together students, family members, and representatives from partner institutions. With the new class, the program has already certified over 500 people in the municipality.

The Deputy Secretary of Sectet, Keynes Silva, emphasized that the certification represents more than the completion of a course, being a milestone in the social and professional transformation of the population. "The Capacita COP30 leaves an important legacy in Santarém and throughout Pará. Each certificate reflects effort, dedication, and new opportunities. And this journey does not stop here. The program will now continue as Capacita Pará, with more courses, more opportunities, and greater reach, further strengthening the preparation of the population for the challenges of the market and regional development," he highlighted.

The program coordinator, Andrey Rabelo, emphasized that the expansion of actions to the interior demonstrates the commitment of the Government of Pará to democratize access to professional qualification. "Our goal is to offer courses that truly make a difference in the lives of students, providing new skills and practical opportunities. It is very rewarding to witness the engagement of participants, to see the dedication and interest of each one in learning and to realize how the knowledge acquired positively impacts their routines and projects," he stated.

Stories of transformation – The courses offered by Capacita COP30 have directly contributed to the acquisition of new skills and the professional improvement of participants. The communicator Ney Nascimento, for example, shared that the training in Public Speaking and Basic English for Tourism developed his communication with the public and expanded his professional possibilities. "It was an incredible experience and a great learning opportunity. The knowledge I acquired already makes a difference in my work and is a chance for new opportunities," he reported.

The Human Resources analyst Greice Pantoja also applies the learnings from the Public Speaking and Digital Marketing courses in her professional routine. "The courses were very important for my career. I use Public Speaking a lot in my activities as an HR manager, and Digital Marketing helps me strengthen my professional presence on LinkedIn," she said.

The entrepreneur José Raimundo, who lives in the Igarapé-Açu da Ponta Negra Community and owns a restaurant, crossed daily by boat to attend the Capacita COP30 classes in Santarém. For him, the experience not only contributed to the improvement of his activities in the restaurant but also brought knowledge that can be applied to strengthen community tourism in his region.

"I registered and participated in the Digital Marketing and Public Speaking courses. What I learned not only helped me improve my work in the restaurant but will also allow me to develop and strengthen tourism in my community," he stated.

Qualification for the future – Launched in 2024, Capacita COP30 offers free short-term courses in strategic areas such as tourism, customer service, languages, communication, sustainability, and green economy, combining theory and practice to enhance the professional skills of participants. The initiative integrates the actions of the Government of Pará aimed at professional qualification and strengthening the service sector, focusing on preparing the population of Pará for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will be held in Belém.

Since the creation of the program, *more than 33,000 people throughout Pará have already been certified*, both in the capital and in the interior, boosting economic and social development in different regions of the state. The training is carried out in partnership with educational and technical training institutions, which are essential to expand the reach of the project and bring new opportunities to an increasing number of locations.
