Kátia Gonçalves took the opportunity to care for her skin and health.

On the morning of this Thursday (23), the Social and Professional Unit of the ParáPaz Foundation, in Belém, promoted a moment of self-care and learning for the students of the pilates classes. The auditorium transformed into a true wellness space, bringing together beauty, health, and information services, in partnership with the University of the Amazon (Unama).

The participants were able to take advantage of the moment to care for themselves, with services such as eyebrow design, hand spa, and skin cleansing, in addition to health services like blood pressure measurement and rapid tests for syphilis and hepatitis B and C.

The program also included a lecture on Pink October and the importance of breast cancer prevention, given by the Women's Coordinator, Patrícia Potiguar. The moment was one of sharing experiences and information about women's health care and encouraging the performance of preventive exams.

Student Ruth Modesto praised the welcoming environment provided by ParáPaz.

A regular in pilates classes, Ruth Modesto, 72, found the program very important. “I loved what was addressed, what was offered to us. I don’t really like going to the health center for these services, and here it’s more comfortable, we feel good with our friends and it’s more fun,” she commented.

Meanwhile, Kátia Gonçalves, 57, a student since 2023, took the day to have a skin cleansing and attend the lecture. “I always do my preventive exams and I already have my mammogram scheduled for this month. I found everything very enlightening and I really liked the attention we had today,” she said.

Patrícia Potiguar, Women's Coordinator, and Beatriz Lopes, unit coordinator, participated in the action reinforcing the importance of health prevention and self-care.

For the unit coordinator, Beatriz Lopes, the moment was an opportunity to raise awareness not only among the students but also among the staff about the importance of prevention. “It is essential to take care of health and to pass this information on to friends, neighbors, and family. This type of event is very rewarding and shows how partnerships strengthen our work and expand the reach of our actions.”
