The Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará Foundation held the event "Revisitation of the Strategic Planning - 2026" during the week. The meeting took place on Combu Island, in the Metropolitan Region of Belém, and was attended by 60 managers, aiming to present strategies for implementing new projects within the institution.

Walda Valente, director of Planning, Budget, and Management of the Santa Casa Foundation, explains that the revisitation workshop is an event that occurs annually. “We evaluate the strategies and projects designed for the organization, we run the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle, and set new goals for the following year.”

“The event included the participation of the institution's senior and middle leadership, leaders representing the 3,212 employees responsible for unfolding everything that has been planned for the tactical and operational levels. The planning is designed for a four-year horizon, following the guidelines of the current PPA, monitored monthly and revisited annually,” points out the director.

For Bruno Carmona, president of the Santa Casa do Pará Foundation, the planning for the year 2026 is essential and aims to qualify the hospital's services, raising quality standards for better practices in assistance, in addition to expanding the services delivered to society. “This activity of thinking about the next year for the hospital, what we want, where we are going, what we can deliver, how we will deliver within the legal budget limits and aiming at compliance with the public health policies established by the State Department of Public Health (Sespa), by the Government, is fundamental for us to succeed in our actions year after year. During my time in management, we have done this every year, and this activity has proven to be very successful.”

“The final product of the strategic planning for the following year comes from the hospital's own leaders and not from top to bottom. There is a strong commitment from them with the deliberations and projects, which greatly facilitates the management process. My role then becomes to hold them accountable for what they have naturally defined with some oversight from senior management. This way, they can engage their teams because they are part of the construction process, which greatly increases their sense of belonging. In short, this meeting is always a very important moment where we are concluding one exercise while already thinking about the next and always striving for success in our greatest achievement, which is always the next one,” concludes the manager.
