A total of 69 participants, including teachers and public education professionals, attended the first aid training conducted by the Castle of Dreams Public General Hospital on Monday, the 20th.

Known as the Lucas Law, the activity was unprecedented in the district and prepared professionals to act in emergency situations, strengthening the care network for children and adolescents in the school community.

Organized by the hospital's Humanization Commission, the course was taught by nursing professionals. The activities included practical demonstrations, participatory dynamics, and guidance on safe conduct, sparking the interest and engagement of the participants.

“This training reinforced the hospital's commitment to safety, prevention, and the value of life — especially for children and adolescents — strengthening the bond with the community,” said Camila Lira, the hospital's care manager.

She explained that in emergency situations, quick action is often crucial to saving lives. “We are all subject to unexpected situations and need to be properly prepared to handle urgent demands with technique, knowledge, and emotional control,” Camila noted.

At the end of the course, the hospital professionals held a conversation with the participating community, which reflected on the importance of the initiative.

“It was a wonderful course! We really needed a lot of clarifications, and you were excellent. Congratulations to everyone! And we already want to request the second edition, so we can participate with you again,” said teacher Elidiana Gargthetti, a course participant.

Teacher Miriam Messias, who also participated in the training, added: “The course was something we really needed. I hope there will be a next edition soon because it was very good and enriching. I can only thank you for the initiative — it made us more confident to act in emergency situations.”

The general perception was that the course's guidance made education professionals more secure about how to act in emergency situations.

These reports reinforce the impact of the Lucas Law Project and demonstrate the relevance of educational actions that combine technical knowledge, social responsibility, and humanization.

Lucas Law - The Lucas Law (13.722/2018) was created in honor of 10-year-old Lucas Begalli Zamora, who died after choking during a school trip.

The case, which moved the country, led to a law that made training in first aid mandatory for teachers and school staff — precisely so that lives are not lost due to lack of preparation.

“Our role as a public hospital goes far beyond assistance within our walls. We want to be partners with the community, promoting educational actions that save lives and strengthen the culture of care and prevention,” emphasized administrative manager Thaynar Costa. “This training is an example of how we can expand the reach of health through information and the preparation of people.”

About the hospital - With 34 beds, both operational and non-operational, the Castle of Dreams Public General Hospital is a regional reference in low-complexity care. The unit offers consultations, exams, surgeries, and follow-ups in seven medical specialties: General Surgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, and Internal Medicine.

Belonging to the Government of Pará, the hospital has been consolidating itself as a safe haven for the local population, always focusing on social inclusion and ethical, humanized, and qualified care.
