Government of Pará holds the XII Race, Walk, and V Cycling Tour of the Public Servant
The Utinga State Park, an environmental preservation area in Belém, was the pleasant location chosen by Seplad to gather around 2,000 participants in homage to Public Servant Day.

With the aim of promoting well-being and health for state public servants, the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Planning and Administration (Seplad), held this Saturday (18) the XII Race, Walk, and V Cycling Tour of the Public Servant at the Utinga State Park "Camillo Vianna" in Belém.
The sporting event was part of a special program in honor of public servants, whose day is celebrated on October 28, and gathered around 2,000 participants, including runners, walkers, and cyclists. More than just a competition, it was a moment of integration, leisure, and health care, reaffirming the State government's commitment to promoting the well-being and quality of life of servants outside the work environment as well.
"October 28 is dedicated to our public servants, and this event is a way to celebrate this special date, recognizing the importance of the dignified and essential work that each servant performs for the State. The race, walk, and cycling tour symbolize not only appreciation but also encouragement for health, physical activity, and integration among the secretariats. Besides honoring the servant, we want to stimulate habits that promote physical and mental well-being, further strengthening the commitment to an active and balanced life," said Ivaldo Ledo, Secretary of State for Planning and Administration.

Participants received a personalized kit, including a backpack, shirt, visor, bib number, timing chip (for runners), food voucher, and participation medal. The Cycling Tour started at 5:30 AM, and the Race and Walk at 6 AM, with distances of 8 km and 4 km, respectively.
Integration - Among the participants of the Cycling Tour, server Renato Tenório from the Secretariat of Social Assistance, Labor, Employment, and Income (Seaster) highlighted the importance of the event as a means of integration and health promotion among servants. He won the raffle worth R$ 1,000.00 held among the participants of the tour.
"It is very gratifying to participate in an event like this. Cycling is already part of my daily life. I have been practicing for a long time. When opportunities like this arise, bringing together people from different secretariats and sectors, it is a great satisfaction. It is a way to combine the useful with the pleasant: practicing a sport that is good for the body and mind, in addition to celebrating our day. Health is essential because without it we cannot perform our work well. Therefore, participating in this moment is very important," said the server.

Inclusion - This year's event also stood out for its inclusive nature, with the participation of visually impaired individuals and wheelchair users, showing that sports are a space for everyone.
Retired Valdivino Neto, an athlete with visual impairment, emphasized the importance of sports practice in his routine. "This is the second time I participate in the Public Servant Race, but whenever I can, I participate in other races. It was great to win because we trained a lot for this. We ran between 10 and 12 kilometers three times a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. It is very important for me; there is nothing better than running and keeping health in check," he emphasized.

Sergeant Alexandre Oliveira from the Military Police was the champion of the men's category of the XII Public Servant Race with a time of 28 minutes and 46 seconds. He highlighted the pride in representing the corporation and spoke about the feeling of overcoming and dedication that led him to victory.
"Three years ago, I participated in the Public Servant Race for the first time and came in third place overall. Since then, I started training with the goal of finishing among the top competitors. When I learned that athlete Renato, who had already been champion 11 times, would be in the race again, I saw it as a challenge. In life, everything is a challenge, and we need to face it. He is a great athlete with many years of experience in running, while I am still new to this sport, with only three years of practice. Even so, it was a great challenge for me. Running represents a change of life, and everyone should practice it because it improves health and even helps to relieve hospitals. I thank the State government for promoting a race in celebration of Public Servant Day, which is very important for all of us servants," said Alexandre Oliveira.

Among the highlights is also server Adriana Duarte from the Pará Military Fire Brigade, a runner for over 20 years and winner of 11 out of 12 editions of the Public Servant Race. Adriana once again secured first place in the women's category with a time of 33 minutes and 24 seconds, maintaining a historic winning streak.
"First, I thank God, and second, the State government and Seplad for organizing this beautiful event. It is a great incentive for us public servants to seek more quality of life. I feel very happy and honored to achieve another victory, also serving as an example and encouragement for others to seek health, improvements, and well-being," said Adriana.

Awards - The winners of the race in the female and male categories received cash prizes, with R$ 4,500.00 for the first place; R$ 2,400.00 for the second, and R$ 1,500.00 for the third.
The servants enjoyed the morning in a relaxed manner, to the sound of a musical band that entertained the audience with great hits, in addition to participating in raffles for accommodation anywhere in Brazil and other prizes. Partners from the Discount Network were also present, showcasing exclusive services and benefits for state servants.

With another successful edition, the Race, Walk, and Cycling Tour of the Public Servant consolidate themselves as one of the most anticipated actions on the calendar of the Pará public service, uniting sports, inclusion, solidarity, and professional appreciation.
