Semas promotes public auction of wood in Paragominas
The event will auction more than ten thousand m³ of wood from authorized processes, ensuring legal destination and return to society through environmental public policies

The State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) will hold, next Tuesday (21), Public Auction No. 02/2025, which deals with the sale of logs from Vegetation Suppression Authorizations (ASVs) regularly licensed by Semas. The event will take place starting at 9:30 AM, at the Regional Office of Semas, located in the Paragominas Furniture Hub.
The auction will be of the "highest bid per lot" type and is divided into eleven lots, totaling more than ten thousand m³ of logs. The amounts raised will follow what is provided by State Law No. 10,588, of June 19, 2024, which establishes that the revenue obtained from the destination of forest raw material resulting from authorized vegetation suppression will be shared between the State Environmental Fund (Fema) and the municipal environmental funds of the communities affected by the activity.
Thus, the resources from the auction return to society in the form of environmental public policies, strengthening actions of inspection, monitoring, regularization, and environmental sustainability, both at the state and municipal levels.
On October 16 and 17, Semas organized a technical inspection of the products available at Patio 11 of Mineração Paragominas S.A., located on Mining Road, km 30, with institutional support from Hydro Paragominas.
The visitation brought together several local companies from the timber sector, which were able to evaluate the lots and obtain technical information about the bidding, demonstrating great interest from the regional productive sector and confidence in the legal and sustainable destination initiatives conducted by the State government.
This collaboration reinforces the joint commitment of the public and private sectors to the responsible management of natural resources and transparency in the processes of alienation of forest raw material.
It is worth noting that only legal entities registered in the State Register of Explorers and Consumers of Forest Products (CEPROF), in the categories of sawmill or sawmill/timber industry, may participate in the auction.
The Deputy Secretary of Administrative Management and Technologies of Semas, Lília Reis, emphasizes that the public auction is an important instrument of transparency and strengthening of environmental management in the State:
“With the auction, we ensure that the wood from authorized vegetation suppression processes has a legal destination and generates economic and environmental returns, strengthening inspection actions and combating illegal deforestation,” she emphasized.
The complete notice of Auction No. 02/2025 is available on the Semas website, on the Portal Compras Pará and on the National Public Procurement Portal.
