Delivered by the State, Marcus Vinícius Gymnasium guarantees more sports, culture, and leisure in Bonito
The multipurpose gym offers a modern, functional, and accessible space, prepared to host sports, cultural, and community events for the nearly 13,000 residents of the municipality.

The Government of Pará delivered, on the afternoon of this Friday (17), another public facility that ensures the encouragement of sports, leisure, community interaction, and quality of life for the people of Pará: the Marcus Vinícius Multipurpose Gymnasium, in the municipality of Bonito, located in the Rio Caeté Integration Region.
“Today, we have the opportunity to deliver the first gym in the city of Bonito, a place for practicing sports, entertainment, and school activities. This will be an environment for the community, for the youth to have quality of life, another guarantee of health for the entire population. The gym matches the name of the municipality,” said the State Governor, Helder Barbalho.
With a total intervention area of approximately 1,160 m², the gym offers a modern, functional, and accessible space, prepared to host sports, cultural, and community events for the nearly 13,000 residents of Bonito.

“Mayor Alex has always talked about waiting for the moment to inaugurate the gym. We felt like an integral part of this work. I also imagined the day I would be here delivering the gym along with you, and that moment has arrived. I am very proud to have worked for 20 years with Governor Helder Barbalho to build an increasingly better State, and here in Bonito it is very good to see the daycare, the gym being completed,” highlighted the Lieutenant Governor, Hana Ghassan.
The Marcus Vinícius Multipurpose Gymnasium has an adequate structure for various modalities, such as futsal, basketball, volleyball, and handball, meeting safety and comfort standards.
Housewife Dielen Lima enjoys playing soccer and approved the new multipurpose gym in Bonito. “It's wonderful because our city didn't have one. We had to pay for time in another place to play, and now there is a free place for fun. It will definitely bring a lot of joy to everyone, not just for us adults, but for the children as well,” she said.

The space received a new floor, accessible bathrooms, bleachers, locker rooms, a dressing room, a snack bar, a square with green areas for socializing, benches, landscaping, LED lighting, accessible sidewalks, and parking.
Physical education teacher Felipe Mendes was satisfied with the structure and states that the public facility becomes the main instrument for sports and leisure in the city. "The previous space did not have a very good condition; the court had several cracks. Everyone is already anxious to use it because this gym is very important for Bonito. It will be an instrument for sports, especially for the younger ones, since man does not live by study and work alone; leisure is also our right,” emphasized Felipe Mendes.

A project in partnership between the State Government, through the State Secretariat of Public Works (Seop), and the Municipal Government of Bonito, the multipurpose gym had an investment of R$ 1,811,966.40.
“The Municipal Gymnasium Marcus Vinícius was designed to promote sports, leisure, and social interaction, also serving as a space for community integration and encouragement of cultural practices. This is another project from the Government of Pará that strengthens the sense of belonging and citizenship of the people of Pará,” says the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.
