Residents of Bonito are awarded the housing benefit 'Sua Casa'
Since its inception, the program has reached over 150,000 families throughout Pará

The state government, through the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab), delivered, this Friday (17), checks from the housing program 'Sua Casa' to 73 families in the municipality of Bonito, in the Integration Region of the Caeté River. The investment exceeds R$ 660 thousand. The delivery of the benefit was led by Governor Helder Barbalho and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, who were on a work agenda in the region.
Governor Helder Barbalho emphasized the importance of returning to the city of Bonito to deliver works and services, such as the municipal gymnasium, “and also benefits from the housing program 'Sua Casa'. Here alone, there are about 70 families awarded, and we came from Ourém, where we delivered 'Sua Casa' to about 150 people, providing dignified housing for those who need it most,” said the governor.

The 'Sua Casa' Housing Program consists of granting benefits for the acquisition of construction materials for building one's own house and payment for the mason's labor. The funding can reach R$ 21 thousand.
The action also included the participation of the president-director of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro. The institution manages 'Sua Casa'. The government program primarily serves families living in social risk situations, such as extreme poverty, victims of disasters like fires, floods, storms, collapses, etc. The program also benefits the elderly, families of Persons with Disabilities (PcD), among other groups. “Since its creation, 'Sua Casa' has already reached over 150,000 people throughout Pará. Governor Helder and Vice Hana have guided us to continually expand the benefit, ensuring the reduction of the housing deficit across Pará,” points out Pioneiro.

Housewife Aline Vitória da Silva Monteiro, who received the benefit in Bonito, detailed that she will renovate the entire house where she lives with her family. “The house I live in belonged to my husband's mother and has been without any maintenance for many years; now with the check, I will be able to work on it and make it better for us to live in. I am grateful for this benefit,” she said.
Maria Bruna Ramos da Silva, who is a farmer, said that the happiness was great because it will be her first own house. “I will build my house from scratch, and I am very anxious because I will receive this benefit from the hands of the governor. I am very grateful to him and to Vice Governor Hana, because without this assistance, I would never have my house,” pointed out the beneficiary.

To receive the benefits, candidates must meet the criteria - established by law - to be registered. After registration, Cohab gradually selects the registered individuals based on the order of priorities outlined in the program's guidelines. As candidates are selected, the engineering team of the Company begins the evaluation and diagnosis process of the homes.
Created in 2019, the 'Sua Casa' program has already improved housing conditions in all municipalities in Pará, across the twelve integration regions of Pará.
