State conducts training on good practices and food handling on Combú Island
At the end of the training, the students received the certificate that proves their qualification and allows them to properly handle and market food products.
The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat for Social Assistance, Labor, Employment and Income (Seaster), held on Thursday (16), another edition of the course "Good practices for food handling". This time, the action took place on Combú Island, an environmental protection area (APA), located on the Guamá River.
With the aim of boosting the local economy, as well as learning, to ensure good food safety practices in the State of Pará, Seaster, through the Directorate of Food and Nutritional Security (Disan), promoted the course for 15 residents of Combú, who work in the productive and food sector.
During the training, participants received theoretical and practical guidance on essential care in the preparation, storage, and marketing of food, addressing topics such as PPE, personal hygiene, good practices, behavior in the kitchen, and food safety.
The action is part of Seaster's “Feeding Opportunities” project, aimed at promoting food and nutritional security, fostering local entrepreneurship and income generation for people in vulnerable situations. The course also seeks to ensure that the products marketed by the residents of Combú meet appropriate standards of quality and safety.
At the end of the training, the students received the food handling certificate, a document that proves their qualification and allows them to properly handle and market food products.
"We prioritize the expansion of the qualifications we offer, in favor of more improvements that enable job and income generation for all. We carry out planning so that all 144 municipalities are reached by all programs and actions developed for the well-being of our population," said Valdo Filho, deputy secretary of Social Assistance at Seaster.
