Training for COP30 escorts will have roads closed next Saturday, 18, in the capital
The training is part of the preparation actions of the security forces for the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change
The State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup) will conduct training this Saturday (18), from 2 PM to 5 PM, with the security forces that will escort delegations and authorities during the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP 30), which will be held in Belém in November.
The action is part of the strategic preparation for the Leaders' Summit, an event that precedes COP and takes place on November 6 and 7, bringing together heads of state and high-level representatives from various countries.
Logistics and road safety test
The training will be conducted by Segup teams, coordinated by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and supported by various public security system agencies, such as the State Traffic Department (Detran), Belém Municipal Guard, Military Police, Ministry of Defense, Marajoara Command, and the Penitentiary Administration Secretariat (Seap).
According to the Deputy Secretary of Operational Management of Segup, Colonel PM Ed-Lin, the simulation aims to adjust the travel time of the convoys and verify the feasibility of the routes to be used during the official event.
“This simulation aims to align the security teams, coordinated by the Federal Highway Police, along with Detran, Municipal Guard, Seap, Military Police, Ministry of Defense, and Marajoara Command. We will adjust the logistics times of the convoys and the feasibility of the roads so that everything is well coordinated when the authorities are here,” explained the colonel.
He also advised the public about the temporary impacts on traffic. “It is important for the population to pay attention to the roads that will be blocked at this time, so that everyone can plan accordingly and avoid the intersections and avenues mentioned during the training period,” he warned.

ROADS THAT WILL BE PARTIALLY CLOSED
On the following roads, cones will be used to close and partially block the sections where the simulation will take place. Vehicle drivers and pedestrians can count on the assistance and guidance of security agents present at the blockades.
The distribution of exclusive lanes for the convoys will be made on Av. Magalhães Barata, at the corner with Av. José Bonifácio, where one lane will be dedicated to the authorities' convoy and the two lanes of the road will be released for vehicles to access Almirante Barroso.
Av. Duque de Caxias will have one lane dedicated exclusively to the convoys starting from Travessa Enéas Pinheiro to Av. Dr Freitas, where it will be completely closed.
The same will occur on Av. Senador Lemos from the intersection with Av.
