Santa Rosa Hospital in Abaetetuba promotes music therapy project for users
Therapeutic activity provides physical and emotional well-being, and strengthens the bond between health teams, patients, and hospital volunteers
The Santa Rosa Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins (HRBTSR), in Abaetetuba, launched an innovative initiative on Tuesday (14) to assist in the recovery of patients: the Music Therapy project, which provides singing and music for hospitalized patients and staff. In addition to improving mood, concentration, and the ability to remain in the hospitalization environment, the project offers a moment of welcome and well-being.
The Humanization sector of Santa Rosa Hospital organized the action with the help of volunteers from the Assembly of God Church. The goal of the Music Therapy project is to provide a moment of interaction between patients and staff, with musical performances.
The hospital emphasizes that music therapy allows the human brain to respond naturally to music, and this reaction goes beyond the realm of stored memories. "Music has a capacity that transcends the simple act of awakening memories, and when used as therapy, it can contribute to a healthier life."
"Our intention is to transform the hospital environment into a more welcoming and humanized space for patients and staff, using music that promotes faith, hope, and motivation,” said Antonilda Pinheiro, administrative assistant of Humanization.
The Humanization sector also highlights that the use of music in hospital environments generates therapeutic benefits, "such as improved mood, concentration, and logical reasoning; increased disposition and, consequently, reduced anxiety, stress, and depression.
