General Hospital of Tailândia conducts action for Pink October with over 240 scheduled exams
The activity ensured the scheduling of exams such as mammograms, ultrasounds, and laboratory procedures

The General Hospital of Tailândia (HGT) held another action related to the Pink October campaign yesterday (13), aimed at breast cancer prevention and promoting women's health. The initiative was part of the planning for the 2025 campaign actions and was the second conducted by the unit, with participation from the external public and users. Throughout the day, the activity resulted in the scheduling of over 240 exams, including mammograms, ultrasounds, and laboratory procedures.
The action was coordinated by the Humanization Working Group (GTH) and took place in the external area of the hospital, in front of the Emergency Room (PA). The space was organized with tables and chairs, themed around the campaign, and operated from 8 AM to 5 PM.
During the event, appointments were available for mammograms, ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, laboratory tests, and X-rays. In total, more than 241 appointments were made, with 62 for mammograms and 74 for ultrasounds being the most sought after by the public. The exams will be conducted throughout October and early November at the hospital itself.
According to Ana Bheatriz, supervisor of the User Service (SAU) and vice-coordinator of the GTH, the activity aimed to increase women's access to preventive exams and strengthen the connection between the hospital and the community.
"The action was very positive and fully achieved what we planned. We had a great participation of women interested in taking care of their health and undergoing their preventive exams. This feedback shows that awareness campaigns have been effective and that women are increasingly aware of the importance of prevention and early diagnosis," highlighted the professional.
In addition to the appointments, the GTH team also provided health guidance, distributed educational pamphlets, and measured the vital signs of participants.
User Maria de Nazaré, 63, a resident of the Piçarreira neighborhood, was one of the first to arrive at HGT to participate in the action. Attentive to the importance of preventive care, she took the opportunity to schedule three exams: mammogram, transvaginal ultrasound, and electrocardiogram, highlighting the ease of the process and the importance of the initiative for the female community.
"I found the hospital's initiative very important. I came early to secure my exams and take advantage of the ease that the hospital offered us. This action helps many women who sometimes have difficulty scheduling appointments and exams. I was very happy to be able to schedule my exams and also take care of my health in an accessible way," said the retiree.
According to the coordination, the activity also facilitated access to exams, which normally needed to be regulated by municipal regulation and referred to the hospital. During the action, appointments could be made directly by the HGT team, speeding up the process for users.

For the executive director of HGT, Eduardo Silva, the mobilization reinforces the institution's commitment to women's health and preventive care. "Pink October is an opportunity to intensify actions that encourage self-care and early diagnosis. This initiative demonstrates the commitment of the hospital teams to increase access and promote health," emphasized the manager.
