The U-18 futsal team from Clube do Remo became the champion of the 4th edition of the Brazil Cup in the category, with support from the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel). The blue team, which received financial support from the State to participate in the competition, defeated Sesc from Brasília (DF) 8 to 1 in the final.

The competition took place in Fortaleza (CE), from October 5 to 11, gathering 16 clubs from various states. The teams were divided into four groups, and the two best from each group advanced to the knockout stage. Remo finished the competition undefeated, establishing itself as the best team in the national tournament.

João Pedro thanked the support from the Government of Pará

Left winger João Pedro, 18 years old, highlighted the importance of the title and the support received. “I am very happy with the achievement, which is very important for our State, for our club. Once again, Clube do Remo is putting Pará at the top of the country. And I want to thank Seel, which through its benefits and help, made this trip, this dream, a reality. I can only thank for this, everything being possible through Seel. May there be more championships and more achievements, more visibility for our sport,” said the athlete.

Incentive - The head of Seel, Cássio Andrade, emphasized the work of the Government of Pará, through the Secretariat, in supporting athletes from Pará. “Another achievement for our State of Pará. This shows all the work of the Government of Pará, providing financial support for these young people to realize their dreams, bringing the name of Pará to the top of the main national competitions. Remo was champion undefeated, and we can only congratulate these young people. Just this year, we have already supported over a thousand athletes in various modalities to shine at national and international levels,” said the secretary.

The support from Seel allows up to three requests for support per athlete each year, with two for national competitions and one for international. The financial incentive is mainly aimed at travel, registration, and accommodation, ensuring that athletes can represent the State with safety and peace of mind.
