In order to ensure control and order on the roads and thus greater tranquility for the thousands of pilgrims and tourists who attended the first three processions this Saturday (11): Road Procession, River Círio, and Motorcycle Procession, a series of activities were carried out by the security forces.

During the morning processions this Saturday, public security agents were mobilized along the route and course of the Road, River, and Motorcycle Processions.

The first of these, the Road Procession, covers a distance of 24 km, departing from the Matriz Church of Ananindeua at 5 am, heading towards the new Icoaraci Waterway Port. Along this route, the traffic axis operates with 11 operational points. All movement of the faithful is closely monitored by the agencies and also at the Integrated Command and Control Center, on Avenida Almirante Barroso in Belém, and at the Mobile Command and Control Center, installed in the roundabout, through video monitoring.

Around 9 am, the River Círio began, when the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Nazaré traverses the waters of the Guajará Bay. At this point, the security forces acted to organize the small, medium, and large vessels. The procession arrived around 11 am at the Escadinha do Cais do Porto.

During the procession, approximately 10 nautical miles were covered, around 18.5 km, in a route lasting 2 hours. According to estimates from the Festival Directorate, about 50,000 people participated.

All stages were monitored by security agencies, emphasizes the Secretary of the Public Security and Social Defense Secretariat (Segup), Ualame Machado.

"The security forces demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ensuring the tranquility of the processions this Saturday. On land, our teams carried out traffic guidance and motorcycle inspections, while on the river, we intensified the oversight of vessels participating in the river procession. This joint effort demonstrates our dedication to protecting and ensuring the faith of all participants, providing a safe and harmonious environment for the celebration," said Ualame.

For incidents involving vessels, eight ports were made available for extraction points on land.

Motorcycle Procession - After the arrival of the River Círio, it was time for motorcyclists to pay their tributes. With police and traffic agency support from the municipality and the state, a large operation was carried out.

The main action took place at the archway, installed at Avenida Doca de Souza Franco with Avenida Marechal Hermes. Tow trucks were made available for the collection of altered vehicles and/or stolen goods seized during the inspection.

About 60 inspection agents from the Traffic Department (Detran) and experts from the Scientific Police (PCE) conducted the screening of drivers and participating vehicles before the start of the procession. The retained vehicles are removed to the Detran retention park for subsequent regularization.

Paying tribute for over ten years, Francisco Santos was present and praised the organization carried out.

“Traffic is more organized, and this year is better than before, and I hope that from now on it gets even more organized, due to many irregular motorcycles. They deserve congratulations. And this festival for me can be summed up in one word, gratitude. Gratitude for everything, to God, to Our Lady, because there are many blessings in our lives, and I am here today with my girlfriend, it is precisely to her, who has never left us unsupported. Just gratitude,” he concluded.

After gathering, the procession began at 12 pm, heading towards the Gentil Bittencourt school. After covering the 2.5 km route, the procession arrived around 12:20 pm, with an estimated audience of 45,000 participants.
