Mental health is the theme of action at Santa Rosa Hospital
Topics such as the effects of stress on the body, warning signs, and strategies for dealing with stressful situations in the workplace were discussed.

The Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins Santa Rosa, located in Abaetetuba, in northeastern Pará, held a special program in honor of World Mental Health Day, celebrated this Friday (10). Through discussion circles and art therapy, patients, companions, and staff were able to discuss the topic, combat prejudices, and encourage initiatives that prioritize mental health as a fundamental component for quality of life.

Psychologist Elizabeth Silva and physiotherapist Carla Brabo led activities for patients and companions, using art therapy as a means of expression and support. Under the supervision of psychologist Elizabeth Silva, patients participated in a free painting activity, where they could express on a white canvas everything that brought them comfort and well-being.
In an activity conducted by physiotherapist Carla Brabo, patients painted an image of Our Lady of Nazaré in homage to the Círio de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré. This activity aimed to promote reflection, spiritual connection, and reduce anxiety during hospitalization.
The audience received the action very positively, showing satisfaction and gratitude for the initiative. Patient Damiana Raimunda, 68 years old, commented:
"I painted beautifully, I really enjoyed the activity and would like it to happen more often," she emphasized.
The elderly woman's account demonstrates the positive effect of the activity, which provided patients with moments of relaxation, motivation, support, and attention to emotional health.
On October 9 and 10, the Hospital's Humanization Commission organized discussion circles with group activities for staff. The program was led by psychologist Irandir Júnior and was themed “My Life Project.” Participants interacted by writing on a blank sheet five goals they wanted to achieve and five obstacles they saw as barriers to those goals. In the end, the interaction allowed employees to unite and support each other.

Psychologist Irandir Júnior commented: “Often we live on autopilot and end up forgetting to dedicate attention to our life projects. It is important to reflect on our goals and priorities, seeking to direct actions to achieve what we truly desire.”
During the two days of activities, topics such as the definition of stress, its effects on the body and emotions, warning signs, and strategies for dealing with stressful events, both internal and external, in the workplace were addressed. Simple self-care practices that can help improve daily well-being were also shared. At the opening of the event, Pedro Carrias, coordinator of the multiprofessional team, emphasized the relevance of mental health, stating that "caring for the mind is essential for the well-being, emotional balance, and quality of life of everyone."
The Regional Hospital of Baixo Tocantins Santa Rosa reaffirms its commitment to comprehensive care and the valuing of the mental health of its staff and patients, understanding that a healthy mind is fundamental for balance and quality of life.
