The Government of Pará launches a call for proposals for the official programming of the Pará Pavilion in the Green Zone

The Government of Pará, through the Secretary of Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas), opened, this Wednesday (8), the call for proposals for events that will compose the official programming of the Pará Pavilion in the Green Zone — a space that will gather the voices and initiatives of Pará society during the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in Belém. Participation in the process is voluntary and free, with applications open until October 19. The goal is to ensure broad and inclusive participation in the largest climate conference on the planet.

“Having the Pará Pavilion as a space in the Green Zone will be a showcase to show what we have of the most innovative and transformative in public policies and sustainability practices. Our goal is to ensure that Pará society, in all its diversity and plurality, has a voice and protagonism at COP30, showing the world that it is possible to reconcile development, science, research, living forests, and social inclusion. This public call, free and voluntary, reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to collective participation in building climate solutions of global reach,” highlights the state secretary of Environment, Climate and Sustainability, Raul Protázio Romão.

How to participate – Applications are free and must be made exclusively through an electronic form, available at the registration link, between October 8 and 19, 2025, until 11:59 PM (Belém time). Each application must contain a summary of the proposal, a declaration signed by the institution's leader confirming the veracity of the information, and the name of the person responsible for the proposal, as well as a brief resume of the panel coordinator. The complete call, with all the details of the process, can be consulted at this link.

The proposals must present the information requested in the call, such as title and theme of the proposal, a brief description of the objectives, proposing institution, represented segment, name of the responsible coordinator, indication of panelists, and email contact, address, and phone number. They can be submitted in the formats of Thematic Panels, aimed at debates with up to four participants and one moderator; Technical Presentations, which highlight experiences, projects, or public policies; and Collaborative Meetings, aimed at institutional meetings, launches, and cooperation networks. Each event will have a maximum duration of 50 minutes.

After submission, the proposals will be analyzed by a Technical Committee of the State Government, based on criteria such as thematic relevance, concrete climate action, plurality, international participation, and mobilization capacity. The final result will be published on October 24, 2025, on the Semas website. Questions can be sent to the email [email protected].

Pará Pavilion – Set up in the Green Zone, the Pará Pavilion was designed to promote the protagonism of Pará and Pará society in innovative climate solutions, encouraging plural and inclusive participation in the official agenda of COP30. The space seeks to give visibility to projects, public policies, technologies, and initiatives with the potential for climate transformation, in addition to connecting local experiences with global practices of mitigation, adaptation, and climate financing.

With daily programming during the conference, the pavilion aims to bring together local and subnational governments, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, traditional communities, youth, academia, and civil society around the debate on concrete solutions to face the climate crisis, the appreciation of living forests, and the promotion of inclusive and sustainable development models.

The environment will be geared towards bilateral meetings, panels, exhibitions, and thematic events, in addition to enabling the launch of initiatives, dissemination of research results, exchange of international experiences, and strengthening of cooperation networks aimed at implementing national and global climate commitments.
