The film starring Gael García Bernal returns to theaters in a restored version starting this Thursday (9), with a screening at 4 PM in the Nazaré neighborhood.

In Belém, Cine Líbero Luxardo will screen, starting this Thursday (9), at 4 PM, the restored 4K version of the acclaimed Mexican drama “Amores Perros.” The feature film, which marked the debut of director Alejandro G. Iñárritu in cinemas and revealed actor Gael García Bernal, celebrates 25 years since its release with special screenings in various countries.
The new copy had its first screening at the prestigious Cannes Classics showcase and is part of the commemorative programming for the film's anniversary. “Amores Perros” won the Grand Prize of the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, establishing itself as one of the landmarks of contemporary Latin American cinema.

In addition to Gael García Bernal, the cast features great names from Mexican cinema, such as Goya Toledo, Emilio Echevarría, and Vanessa Bauche. The drama follows the personal stories of three characters, which are intertwined through a car accident in Mexico City: Octavio, the owner of a dog used for underground fights who wants to run away with his sister-in-law Susana; Daniel, who leaves his wife to live with a model; and the homeless man Chivo, who tries to return to his family.
