Police arrest couple in the act and seize nearly 20 kg of drugs
The Civil Police also seized a submachine gun, precision scales, and drug trafficking notes

On this Monday (6), the Civil Police, through the Moju Police Station, caught a couple in the act suspected of involvement in drug trafficking. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 20 kg of drugs, a submachine gun, ammunition, and other materials related to criminal activity.
The arrests occurred after investigations were initiated based on anonymous tips indicating the existence of a drug trafficking point in a condominium in the municipality. The police team began to monitor the location and observed intense suspicious activity, confirming the indications of criminal practice.
Based on the information gathered, the agents proceeded to the indicated address and located the suspects. “During the approach, we found a man and a woman inside the property. Given the reports and the verified indications, we informed them about the permanent nature of the drug trafficking crime and entered the location supported by preliminary investigation,” explained delegate Mhoab Khayan from the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins.

In the property, a 9mm submachine gun with a magazine and 15 intact rounds; approximately 20 kg of a substance resembling skunk; two precision scales; a notebook with drug trafficking accounting notes; and a cell phone were seized.
The couple was taken to the Moju Police Station, where they were charged in the act. Both remain in custody awaiting judicial proceedings. A police inquiry has been initiated to deepen the investigations and gather more evidence for future legal action.
