The State Department of Education (Seduc) held, this Thursday (2), the second preparatory simulation for the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb), with the participation of students from the 5th and 9th grades of Elementary School and the 3rd year of High School. The action mobilized all schools in the state education network as part of the strategic planning to improve the quality of education in Pará.

The Saeb will be applied nationwide between October 20 and 31. The simulation aims to familiarize students with the assessment format and provide schools with a diagnosis of the main learning difficulties, allowing for the adoption of more effective pedagogical strategies. The initiative also contributes to preparing 3rd-year high school students for the National High School Exam (Enem).

Mobilization in schools

In Ananindeua, the Maria Encarnação State School, which serves 85 students from the 6th to the 9th grade full-time, organized a welcoming moment before the test was administered. Students received Saeb 2025 kits as an incentive to participate.

Student Alice Emanoelly Coelho, from the 9th grade, highlighted the benefits of the exercise. "The simulation is good because it helps to train new things that we sometimes do not master. It also serves our learning and prepares us for high school, which starts next year. The teachers motivate us a lot, especially in Portuguese and Mathematics, to do a good test."

Student José Ricardo Dias, also from the 9th grade, spoke about the role of institutional support. "The Saeb is very important. Sometimes, the pressure makes some students think about giving up, but the encouragement from family, school, and even the awards help us to continue. It is a great learning experience and will help us in the future."

Mathematics teacher Jackson Souza emphasized the dedication of the school team. "We have a dedicated team that uses all the resources offered by Seduc, digital platforms, textbooks, and support materials, in addition to our own. The goal is to provide the best possible education for the students and achieve good results."

At the Erotildes Frota Aguiar State School of Elementary and High School, in the Júlia Sefer neighborhood, also in Ananindeua, students from the 9th grade and the 3rd year of High School participated in the simulation.

Student Kryscia Joele do Carmo reinforced the importance of the action. "This mobilization is very important because it brings more knowledge to us, both for the Saeb and for the Enem. Today's test was in line with what we studied and will contribute a lot to the future."

Rita Jamilly Araújo, from the 9th grade, emphasized the value of the simulation as a tool for self-knowledge. "It is a way for us to prepare better and realize where we need to improve to achieve our goals in high school and beyond."

Integrated state strategy

The simulation is part of a set of strategies implemented by Seduc in partnership with the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, through the Center for Public Policies and Education Assessment (CAEd), aimed at strengthening teaching and improving educational indicators.

According to the Deputy Secretary of Basic Education, Júlio Meirelles, the mobilization is broad and covers the entire state. "The entire state network is mobilized, both in urban and rural areas. These results will allow us to identify critical descriptors and guide final revisions, helping to enhance student learning and the quality of education in the State."

The Saeb test will be a moment of consolidation of the advances achieved by public education in Pará. The protagonism of students is a direct result of investments in training, pedagogical infrastructure, and evaluation strategies implemented by the Government of Pará in recent years.
