The Government of the State of Pará held, this Tuesday (30), the graduation ceremony of 243 military firefighters, including 240 enlisted personnel and 3 officers. The Glove and Badge Exchange ceremony took place at the Headquarters of the Military Fire Brigade of Pará (CBMPA) in Belém, marking another step in the process of valuing and strengthening the state's public security forces.

The ceremony celebrated the professional recognition of men and women who now take on new responsibilities within the corporation, contributing to enhance the response capacity of CBMPA throughout the Pará territory.

Present at the event, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan highlighted the importance of the moment for those promoted and for the state's security policy.

“I am very happy to be part of this significant moment. I want to congratulate the Military Fire Brigade of the State of Pará and, especially, all those promoted at this event, which represents a milestone in the professional journey of each one. It is also a reflection of the continuous strengthening of security and protection policies in our state. It is gratifying to participate in a ceremony that conveys this positive energy, aligned with what we desire for Pará: an increasingly strong, safer state that cares for its people,” said the Vice Governor.

During the program, the audience witnessed the presentation of the platoon and the traditional symbolic rite of the exchange of gloves and badges, conducted by the mentors of the promoted personnel.

Promotions represent a historic advance for the corporation

The General Commander of the Fire Brigade, Colonel QOBM Jayme de Aviz Benjó, emphasized the impact of the promotions for the corporation and for the Pará society.

“The promotions we celebrate today are the result of stories of overcoming, commitment to the mission of serving, and daily dedication of our military personnel. Behind each uniform, there is a family, there is effort, and there is vocation,” he stated.

The commander also highlighted the support of the State Government for the modernization of the corporation.

“The 243 promotions celebrated at this ceremony total 1,736 military personnel promoted since April 2023, which represents over 65% of our workforce. This historic achievement was only possible thanks to the sanction of our Effective Fixation Law, which corrected distortions and ensured fairness in promotions. Today we have a valued, motivated troop that is increasingly prepared to serve the Pará society,” he added.

Training of new firefighters expands workforce

In addition to the promotions, the State Government is also investing in expanding the workforce of CBMPA. Currently, over 400 newly hired military personnel are participating in the Basic Training Course, with training in areas such as urban and forest fire fighting, hazardous materials operations, among other essential skills for the corporation's performance.

In total, over 1,100 new agents of the state's security forces, including firefighters and military police, are participating in training courses.
