At Mangueirinho, in Belém, Harlem Globetrotters showcase skills in a true show of interaction with the audience

Arena Guilherme Paraense, Mangueirinho, hosted one of the biggest sports shows in the world on Monday (27). For the first time in the North of the country, the legendary Harlem Globetrotters performed in Belém, in a show that combined sports, humor, acrobatics, and audience interaction.

The event was organized by Wow Entertainment, responsible for bringing the global phenomenon back to the country after eight years. During their last visit to Brazil in 2017, the Globetrotters filled gyms in various capitals. In Belém, it was no different: entire families, passionate about basketball, cheered on a night that will be remembered by them.

The event is part of the Brazilian tour of 2025, which includes 19 performances across Brazil in

several cities between September and October. Founded in 1926, the team has captivated generations by transforming basketball into a cultural spectacle, and this time they delighted the people of Pará with an even more interactive new show.

The Secretary of Sports and Leisure of Pará, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the importance of hosting a spectacle of this magnitude in the State.

“Bringing the Harlem Globetrotters to Belém was a milestone for sports and for the culture of our people. Mangueirinho has established itself as a stage for major international events, and seeing thousands of people gathered to celebrate basketball shows that Pará is ready to welcome the world. It was a historic moment that further valued sports and social inclusion in the State,” he stated.

The tour also celebrated Children's Day and National Basketball Day, both celebrated on October 12, reinforcing the playful and inclusive nature of the show. Basketball teacher and coach Manuela Soares emphasized the joy of the state hosting such an important event.

“I am very happy to participate in such a great event; I never imagined I would be here, watching these stars of world basketball. I brought my students to participate, and I am very happy about that. I can only thank the Government of Pará for this moment,” said the teacher.

With nearly a century of history, the team has performed in over 120 countries and has become an icon of pop culture, immortalized in cartoons and in the memories of different generations.
