Agents from the 'Antônio Lemos' Base seize over 5 kilograms of drugs in Marajó
The blocks of a substance similar to skank were on a vessel that had departed in convoy from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, to Belém
An integrated inspection action carried out by agents working at the Integrated River Base "Antônio Lemos", linked to the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), conducted on the morning of this Saturday (27), resulted in the seizure of five blocks of a substance similar to skank, equivalent to 5.400 kg, transported on a vessel that had left Manaus (AM) heading to Belém.
"The continuous monitoring of the River Bases once again ensured the seizure of narcotics in the river network of Marajó. This morning, our agents, working in an integrated manner and with the help of a sniffer dog, seized 5.400 kilograms of skank hidden in a backpack, which were likely being sent for sale in Belém. We will continue to act strongly against drug trafficking to dismantle organized crime and ensure social peace in our State," informed Ualame Machado, head of Segup.

Integration - The seizure occurred during an integrated approach by the Segup team, through the Public Security River Group (GFlu), and the Military Police, to the pushboat "João Gabriel", which was part of the convoy of several barges on the Manaus-Belém route.
During the searches, with the help of a sniffer dog, positive signs for narcotics were identified on the barge "Luana II". After a thorough inspection, the military located the drugs. The material was seized and forwarded for procedures to the Civil Police team, which will investigate the case in order to identify those responsible for the illicit cargo.
