Restored 4K version of 'Paris, Texas' premieres at Cine Líbero Luxardo
In addition to the award-winning work of Wim Wenders, this week's programming also includes the continuation of Ghibli Fest, showcasing films from the famous Japanese animation studio
Cine Líbero Luxardo, in Belém, premieres this Thursday (25th) at 7 PM a restored 4K version of the classic film "Paris, Texas" from 1984. The first screening of the feature will include a debate promoted by the Pará Film Critics Association (ACCPA), right after the film's screening. Besides the premiere, the audience will also be able to watch films from the famous Ghibli studio for another week, which will be showing until next Wednesday (1st).

Directed by Wim Wenders, "Paris, Texas" is a powerful statement about self-discovery, loss, redemption, and reconciliation. Distributed in Brazil by O2 Play, the re-release celebrates the film's 40th anniversary, considered a milestone in modern cinema.
Winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1984, the restored version of the feature had its world premiere at the same festival in 2024, where Wim Wenders took the stage to present the work as part of the Cannes Classics showcase.

The story narrates the journey of Travis, who is found exhausted and without memory in a Texas desert after four years of being missing. Gradually, he begins to remember his life and is taken in by his brother Walt, who lives with his wife Anne. Together, they also take care of Hunter, Travis's son, who gradually reconnects with his father. As Travis and Hunter rebuild their relationship and develop a strong friendship, the man sets out in search of his ex-wife, Jane.
