Civil Police executes warrants and arrests suspect for scams in Belém
The suspect was wanted by Justice and was located on Outeiro Island this Tuesday (23). The operation also seized his cell phones and bank cards.

On the morning of this Tuesday (23), the Civil Police of Pará, through the Tourist Protection Delegacy (DPTur), linked to the Division of Investigations and Special Operations (DIOE), executed search and seizure warrants and a preventive arrest warrant issued against a man investigated for committing scams in Belém.
The suspect, considered a fugitive from Justice, was located in the Outeiro district after search actions were initiated based on anonymous tips. During the operation, cell phones and bank cards linked to the illicit practices under investigation were also seized.

Delegate Guilherme Gonçalves, head of DPTur, detailed that the suspect is a repeat offender in the practice of theft through fraud, known for applying the “chupa-cabra” scam at ATMs, a criminal modality that has already resulted in arrests in several states across the country by various Civil Police forces. “His targets include both tourists and residents of Belém, and the scams he has committed have already resulted in losses close to one million reais,” explained the delegate.
The investigations against the suspect began in June when a tourist was robbed in Belém after yet another scam attributed to him. The operation to arrest the man had the integrated support of the Interstate Police Service (POLINTER), the Fraud and Other Frauds Delegacy (DEOF), and the Delegacy for the Protection of Fans and Major Events (DPTGE), in addition to the Police Intelligence Center (NIP) and the Identification Directorate "Enéas Martins" (DIDEM), ensuring the effectiveness of the action and the arrest of the target, who is now at the disposal of Justice.
