When joint pain, mobility limitations, or sequelae from accidents arise, having specialized care makes all the difference. At the Metropolitan Polyclinic of Pará, in Belém, orthopedic specialists closely monitor patients' musculoskeletal systems, offering accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment, preventing complications, and improving quality of life.

Dr. Renato Arraes, an orthopedic specialist at the unit, explains that the clinic regularly monitors diseases such as osteoarthritis, osteoarthritis, tendinopathies, and sequelae from traumatic or sports injuries. "The treatment is multidisciplinary. In more severe cases, we conduct evaluations for surgeries, always seeking the functional recovery of the patient," he details.

Among the most common treatments are fractures and injuries resulting from motorcycle accidents, which require immediate attention and continuous follow-up. "Patients with chronic pain or mobility limitations are followed periodically to assess the evolution of treatment and ensure that recovery occurs safely and completely," adds Renato.

To assist in the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions, the Metropolitan Polyclinic offers radiography, ultrasound, electromyography, and computed tomography exams, in addition to partnerships for medium and high complexity exams. "Our support is comprehensive, ensuring that each patient receives the most appropriate treatment. Currently, we conduct about 800 monthly consultations in the orthopedic area," says the orthopedic specialist.

Integration

The integration with physiotherapy and rehabilitation centers, such as the Usinas da Paz, is another differential of the service. "The goal is to unite clinical treatment and functional rehabilitation, preventing future complications and promoting autonomy for patients," explains Renato Arraes.

The multiprofessional follow-up allows for the treatment of injuries and degenerative diseases, reducing the risks of new complications and providing continuous support for the patient's recovery, consolidating the Metropolitan Polyclinic as a reference in orthopedics and traumatology in the public network of Pará.
