New Tamandaré Project reaches 96% completion and reveals the visual of Block F
Eight of the nine blocks can now be seen, showing what the park will look like, with kiosks, bike paths, landscaping, and community areas
The government of Pará is advancing to the final phase of construction of the Linear Park of New Tamandaré in Belém. With 96% of the works completed, the barriers of Block F, located between Ângelo Custódio Street and 16 de Novembro Alley, have been removed, revealing the public facilities that make up one of the main structural interventions of the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place in the capital of Pará in November.
Now, eight of the nine blocks can be seen, allowing the population to closely follow the progress of the work carried out by the State Department of Public Works (Seop) along Tamandaré Avenue. “The services are on schedule, revealing a multi-use linear park that will welcome the people of Pará and visitors to Belém during COP30,” says the Deputy Secretary of Public Works, Gilmar Mota.
Block F of New Tamandaré is equipped with pergolas, four kiosks with restrooms, urban furniture, bike paths, landscaping, trash bins, and community areas. The space also features paved side roads, integrating leisure, contemplation, and circulation in the region.
Transformation of Tamandaré Avenue
The park's works cover the entire length of the Tamandaré Avenue canal, approximately 1.4 kilometers. The project includes paving, urbanization, landscaping, installation of walkways, and the construction of five new gates for controlling tidal flow.
In total, the Linear Park will have kiosks, bike paths, playgrounds, and spaces for events and contemplation. The area has also gained about 80 trees along the nine blocks, restoring the importance of the avenue for the population and creating a new meeting place.
