The Pará Center for Hemotherapy and Hematology Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the National Service of Industrial Learning (Senai), promoted a blood donation campaign on Wednesday (20) in Belém, mobilizing students, teachers, and staff from the educational institution. The action is part of the strategies to capture donations for the state blood network to ensure safe blood stocks and increase community engagement in the culture of voluntary donation.

The initiative took place at Senai's facilities, with the participation of technical teams from the blood center, who conducted clinical and laboratory screenings, ensuring the safety of donors and patients. With each donation, up to four people can benefit from different treatments, such as high-complexity surgeries and emergency care.

Educational partnership

In addition to the direct impact on maintaining blood stocks, the partnership between Hemopa and Senai also had an educational character, aiming to raise awareness in the school community about the importance of continuous donation.

“The partnership with Senai is of great relevance for strengthening the culture of solidarity. The institution embraces the cause of blood donation and provides all the necessary structure for the campaign to take place. This allows us to attract more donors, collect bags, and further strengthen this chain of solidarity,” said Perla da Silva Santa Rosa, social worker at the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad) of Hemopa.

Community engagement

According to Amanda Ruffeil, sports coordinator at Senai, this was the second campaign of 2025 held in conjunction with Hemopa. “What motivates us is saving lives and helping others. We always mobilize the community of the unit, which receives the initiative very well and participates actively. Our expectation for today is to reach the goal of 100 blood bags,” she highlighted.

The campaign also had the support of community volunteers. Donor Rafaela Quadros, a resident of the João Paulo neighborhood, shared her motivation for participating. “Knowing that such a simple gesture can make a huge difference in someone's life is what drives me. For me, donation is much more than a procedure: it is an act of love and solidarity, it is giving hope and a second chance to those who need it most,” she said.
