São Domingos do Capim strengthens economic development agenda in partnership with Codec
Seminar brings together authorities, leaders, and the community to discuss growth strategies, highlight local potential, and advance the development of the Investor's Guide
The municipality of São Domingos do Capim, nationally known for its pororoca, took another step towards strengthening its economy. This Wednesday (17), the city hosted the Local Economic Development Seminar, promoted by the Pará Economic Development Company (CODEC), in partnership with the Municipal City Hall and Sebrae.
The meeting brought together authorities, entrepreneurs, community leaders, and civil society to align strategies aimed at generating jobs, income, and attracting investments.
At the opening, Mayor Orivaldo das Neves, known as Bateria, highlighted the administration's commitment to development. "Our world is in constant motion, and this movement only truly happens when there is unity and partnership. Today we have representatives from all sectors – entrepreneurs, financial institutions, public management, security forces, and civil society, who together are building this new moment for São Domingos do Capim. This seminar is an opportunity to showcase what we have already achieved and to reinforce that we still have much to advance. Everyone has a role in this process: the entrepreneurs who believe in the municipality, the partners who invest, and the community that dreams of better days. This is the beginning of a new phase, an important step that allows us to look forward with hope and take the leap that our population deserves, with more jobs, income, and quality of life."
Voice of the productive sector
Among the participants, the Technical Supervisor of Family Agriculture of the Marborges Group, Francisco Alberto da Silva Ribeiro, assessed that the union of efforts demonstrates maturity and strategic vision.
“The presence of companies like Marborges, encouraged by the Government of Pará, shows the strength and diversity of the productive sector in São Domingos do Capim. This movement strengthens family farmers, generates income, and opens new development perspectives for the municipality. We believe in the potential of this region and know that, with the support of public management and partner institutions, it is possible to transform the local reality into concrete opportunities for those who live off agriculture. The seminar shows that we are not alone, but that there is a support network so that we can grow with dignity and sustainability.”
The family farmer Vilazio Moreira also shared his view on the impact of the meeting. "This seminar is a leap into the future. It is a big step for those who work in agriculture and dream of better days and more prosperity in São Domingos do Capim."
Next steps - As a result of the seminar, the development of the Investor's Guide for São Domingos do Capim was defined, a document that will gather information on infrastructure, productive chains, local attractions, and the business environment, serving as support for attracting investments.
The event also included representatives from the Municipal Attorney's Office, Military Police, Fire Department, city councilors, municipal secretaries, and the Commercial Association of Castanhal, reinforcing institutional integration.
